You had driven yourself mad puzzling over it, endless nights spent retracing the timeline of events in your processor, pinpointing exactly where it all had gone wrong. Megatron had claimed his resignation was for the survival of their species. He claimed there was no point in fighting any longer, and that it didn’t need to be like this anymore. He’d said it so firmly that you had nearly believed him.
Nearly.
But you knew, you knew, it hadn’t been all for the Cybertronian race.
Why him? Why him?
It didn’t make any sense, but then again, nothing seemed to anymore.
Prime was a weak-willed coward.
So why was it that Megatron wanted him and not you?

While Soundwave is stuck in G.H.O.S.T's 'con prison after his fight with Megatron and Optimus, he reminisces about the past. How did it ever get like this?
TLDR Soundwave angsts about the divorce and is jealous of Megop
