    Summary

Aerion Targaryen is England's best scrum-half. He's cocky, he's confident, and he hates Duncan Pennytree.

Duncan Pennytree is Ireland's captain and best lock. He's strong, he's kind, and he loves nothing more than folding people in half on the field—including Aerion Targaryen.

But if Aerion hates Dunk so much, why does he keep calling him?

And why does Dunk always answer?

    Summary

“Uncle.” Aerion says upon his door closing, facing his vanity as he throws back a cup of wine. A red silk robe is loosely clasped around his waist, one shoulder starting to slip down, “What did you decide to bribe the hedge knight with to–”

His words die in his mouth when he turns, discovering the hedge knight in question right there in his very room. Dunk watches surprise, confusion, and anger flit through those pretty pale violet eyes, sliding from Dunk to his uncle.

“I'm glad you should ask, Aerion.” Baelor folds his hands pleasantly in front of him, “I've given him you.”

    Summary

    Dunk says nothing.
The not-saying costs him. He can feel the words crowding up behind his teeth, the foolish desperate words, and what of this, what of me, what of the dead candle and the unbarred door, and he holds them, because he knows what they are worth, which is nothing, less than nothing, they are the kind of words that end a thing like this, and Dunk has discovered in himself a cowardice he did not know he owned, which is that he would rather have the fire on these terms than not have it at all.
