Every time Yuuji looked at Megumi, he couldn’t help but think of the people who were no longer here. The weight of Gojo, Nanami, and Kugisaki’s absence loomed too large, an oppressive shadow that seemed impossible to escape. It made him question if he even had the right to still be here— still standing, still breathing, and to be the one helping Megumi carry the pieces of their broken world.
Yuuji turned his body away from Megumi, shutting his eyes tightly. He curled up on the floor, his hand clenched into a fist, knuckles pressing hard against the cold surface.
I’m sorry, Fushiguro.
He squeezed his eyes shut as if it would erase the memory of Megumi’s face, so full of hope.
I don’t deserve to be here with you.

Itadori turns around with his usual grin. “Sure!” He taps Megumi’s notebook. “See, you’ve already got the right work, here, but you have to simplify so that…” He leans over to cross out some of Megumi’s writing, before leaning back with a satisfied beam. “Get it?”
Totally wrong, Megumi thinks.
He smiles weakly in response anyway. “Thanks. I can never seem to understand these type of…”
“Keep up the good work,” their teacher interrupts, dropping a test paper on Megumi’s desk with a rather incriminating 98 scrawled on the top.
Itadori eyes the test paper curiously. Megumi feels the visceral urge to crawl into a hole and die.
