Summary
“Before I dismiss you,” Tsunade starts, a suspicious neutrality to her tone that puts Kakashi on edge, “I’m recommending a potential new member for your squad.”
New member? Team Ro doesn’t get new members. Their retention rate is nearly perfect because the same four shinobi have been on rotation since… well, since Itachi. Tsunade slides a file across her desk. It’s thin. He squints behind ceramic and extends one aching, gloved hand to pick it up.
The face he’s greeted with when he opens it is almost enough to send him running straight out of the village.
Or, Sakura gets a promotion.

Summary
Something catches his eye, a necklace dangling loose around Kakashi’s neck. He never noticed that his sensei wore a necklace. There are two silver dog tags hanging from the thin ball chain. Sasuke furrows his brows in focus as he tries to read the small, engraved scripture on each of them. They move too much for him to make anything out.
Kakashi seems to notice the attention, looking up as he finishes lacing his boot up. Sasuke catches his eye. “Whose are those?”
“Mine.”

Summary
Kakashi is sure that if Genma didn’t have his ANBU mask on, he’d be furrowing his brows in disbelief. He makes it clear that the conversation is done, giving Genma a little wave before jumping onto the tree below them. He’s totally not going to the hospital – after the hell that this mission turned out to be, rotting in a bleach-white room while med-nin lecture him and prod him like he’s one of Orochimaru’s guinea pigs sounds worse than death.

“It’s time for botox, I fear. We should go together, Ieiri. Maybe they can do something about those canyons forming around your eyes.”

Summary
He lets his head fall into his palms, elbows braced on the dining room table and cigarette dangling from his lips. Smoking isn’t for him. It never would be for him. But Suguru loved it. Suguru loved him, too.
