Perhaps Lathander knew what my future was going to be all those years ago when he chose to share his magic with me. Perhaps he knew I would become a savior to the people of the Sword Coast. That I would become the skilled cleric he intended me to be. That I would be engaged to the love of my life, my adventuring partner and companion, Astarion Ancunín.
It was hard to believe that he knew that Astarion would become the Vampire Ascendant though. And it was that point that caused a nagging feeling deep in my stomach that I hadn’t done enough. That I had failed one person, even though he still walked this earth, insisting that he was better than he had ever been before. I wasn’t sure it was for the better.

Summary

With no memories of who she was or her life before, she must now navigate her new life as a surrogate for the cruel vampire lord.

After she discovers his terrifying secret, Astarion extorts the runaway to assist him in his lordly duties and perhaps even help him rise to the power he always coveted. Meanwhile, Lilith vows to uncover the secrets of the Ascended Vampire and possibly even find a way to defeat him. That is, if he doesn't devour her body and soul first.
