“So,” Michael starts, smiling, and it only means one thing: trouble.
Stephen presses his eyes closed.
Wonderful. Fantastic. Of course.
“A butt plug?” Michael says, wiggling his shoulders at the word. “That’s kinky.”
Stephen contemplates his own death as he stares at the blue sling keeping Michael’s arm in place. Preferably something quick, merciful. Something that happens before Michael says the word kinky again.
“Michael, no.”
“Oh Michael, yes,” Michael says, stepping closer.

“I’m Michael,” he says.
His voice is soft, lower than Stephen expects, steady in a way that almost hides how carefully he is holding himself together. He looks confident and intimidated all at once, dark eyes fixed on Stephen like looking away isn't an option.
The curse sings.
Not loudly. An ancient song on his veins. Just enough to make Stephen’s ribs feel too small for his own hunger.
Michael.
Stephen smiles anyway, because he is still himself before he is anything else.
“Hi, Michael,” he says, voice tight with the desire burning through him as if trying to reach Michael from the inside. “I’m Stephen.”
Or: after three sold-out nights in Rotterdam, Michael visits a private Amsterdam club intending only to watch. Stephen refuses to be summoned from the dance floor. One dance later, Michael sleeps without his medication for the first time in years, and Stephen’s curse wakes up hungry.

“How do you know my passcode?” Shane asks again.
“That’s what you’re focusing on?” Hayden is basically yelling at this point. “Rozanov is screwing your girlfriend, and you’re worried about how I know your fucking passcode?”
Shane’s brain fully short-circuits.
“Rozanov is what?”
