Summary
This is my take on the beautiful story Heatwaves from George's POV. I loved the original and couldn't get enough of it. If there is anyone out there feeling the same way, I think this should be good for them.
All this back-and-forth, this innocent teasing; he has gotten used to it by now. He knows the moves of the game. He jokes when Dream jokes. He strikes only if Dream does first. It's entertainment. A meaningless, platonic love affair.
Yet his mind dwells. He knows it now. His mind lingers waiting for a dream to last.
It is tiring to navigate the mazes of their interactions with Dream. He grows vary of keeping balance, minding not to fall into a trap with each step. Yet he walks on. There must be an abstract reward to all this, something that feeds his soul — he doesn’t know what. He only knows that it doesn’t bother him anymore. -

Oh. George is in love.
When he does find his best friend and Madeline, they're not kissing, not hugging, not even touching. But George is sitting at a table with her and he's leaning so close to her with a glimmer in his eyes that Dream can't deny.
George, on the rare occasion, had gazed at Dream with a spark that felt like cautious want but the way he looks at her is different. He looks at her the way Dream knows he looks at him. He looks at her with infatuation and intrigue, like he can't get enough of her and wants to know more.
And the worst part of it all? She looks back at him with the same adoration, the same love, returned in full.
Dream found a love that didn't exist through George's eyes and even while he feels the shattering of his heart pour out over the club floor, he can't help but smile through tears.
Because George found love, just not with him.

Summary
The mystery surrounding Nevermore has finally been solved causing the term to end earlier than expected as the school recoups after the loss of two faculty members. Enid returns home to San Francisco where she comes face to face with a mystery centered around her. There she finds out what it means for a wolf who shifts for the first time while under the blood moon. Enid may just be more powerful that she thought.
If only her mother would stop setting her up with a potential mate as she deals with new revelations.
Good thing Wednesday is there to save the day, solve the mystery, and show a werewolf they stand no chance at winning Enid's affections.

Erik doesn't die but still crashes his car four days before the new year with Wille in the passenger seat. Simon's world stops for a little bit.
