Frank realizes a lot of things during his time in rehab, at a nice facility an hour outside of Pittsburgh with cushy rooms and a nice view of the Monongahela. They have flat screens in the communal areas that he would watch Penguins games on, and actually decent meals that you’d never get from the PTMC cafeteria. Great place to stare out of a window and have some revelations.
He realizes that Robby is definitely going to fuck Whitaker.

So now they’re here, at a definite impasse. Robby knows how to shake out some of his adrenaline. He wants to see his best resident back on the floor and saving lives. And if it’s in the best interests of the hospital and his department, then it really falls on Robby’s shoulders to ensure that it happens. It’s just his job.

Beside him, Robby remained motionless except for the steady rapping of his fingers against the back of his hands. He stared out into the dark with that same faraway look, as if whatever part of him had come over to sit by him had not yet fully caught up to his body.
Langdon swallowed once. His throat felt raw, though he had not spoken in what must have been twenty minutes.
“You know,” he said at last, as if the words had been stolen from his mouth, “the funny thing is, I always thought rock bottom would feel a little more dramatic than this.”

Summary
Once you’re gone, then the body is really done. The host drops dead, usually chalked up to whatever allowed you to slip in in the first place. You wish you could explain that to the ones who drive you out.
Do you know how many families would kill for what you have? You want to say. The ones who don’t even have a dead body to mourn? You have the body. And what’s more, the body still talks back.
You understand, of course, that the humans would not see it that way.
