"Thank you," she says, the two of you still having only light words to exchange. Her hand opens and goes forward, although you know it should be reaching out only to the scroll.
Stepping forward, you try to keep your fingers from grazing over hers as the parchment is handed. But as her hand reaches for the scroll, it close around yours too. The touch is ever so light, but confident that it will keep you as she talks to you, "Thank you, my lady. I will not impose on you if you are needed, but perhaps you could stay with me?"
