He could feel Ruvik squirming around against the base of his skull (it was a lot like a cat insistently bumping your leg), muttering his displeasure as Sebastian climbed into the tub.
"Good luck, Sebastian. And please, try to cooperate with any team members you might find in there." She said after a few tense minutes of relative silence. "I know you don't trust us, but they have the same goals as you do."
"'ll do my best. Rather not have to deal with more of your people, though."
"I know. Just remember to call me the moment you find Lily so that we can begin the extraction process." Kidman gave another weak smile. "I'll be out here for you…and…someone else will be in there for you."
He didn't really enjoy the implications of her words.

“I don’t believe you.” Rafa replied through gritted teeth.
“I’m aware.” The Timekeeper said, chuckling lightly. “But I’m afraid this decision may not be up to you. Anymore, that is.”

Bound hands tested the ropes again, shifting as he did. He tilted his head, looking at Darius through the firelight. “No one ever talks about what happens when neither of those things occurs.”
Instead of showing his agreement, Darius added another piece of wood to their fire. “Stories are for people who expect clean endings,” was all that he said.
