    Summary

Fushiguro Megumi is a hard news journalist for a fairly successful newspaper in Toshima City, one of the central wards in Tokyo. He specializes in writing news for crime and politics.

    Crime and politics.

So, when his Editor-In-Chief, Gojo Satoru, decides to put him on a sports feature, highlighting some famous boxer known as Itadori Yuuji, Megumi can't help but consider quitting right then and there.

Seriously, what kind of story could come from that?

This fic was amazing. There's too many words to be said about this. But it was just written so well to the point where the characters don't feel out of place but they feel like they're from the actual show.
Megumi's character was written so well that I never felt like he was ever written out of place. Because he was always stuck between the line of let's keep a professional, but in the end, he decided to be selfish after gojo tells him to like be selfish for once.
Yuji's character was also written incredibly well. I never once thought that that's not Yuji. I was like every single time I read a scene with Yuji. I was like, that's Yuji, that's him. Very well writtened characters, and the fact that he's like a charmer. He's a natural conversationalist. He's like the man that your mom wants you to marry types of and it's just so amazing that this writer was able to convey that in this writing.
Not only that, but I really love how this writer used their background in journalism to write this. And not only that, but in chapter 19, they gave us the entire story that we were building up to. It doesn't help that this entire fic was not outlined. So it's incredibly impressive that this came out, I am impressed, and I genuinely don't think I've been affected by a fic in a while.
Again, it's just an amazingly written story. And I really like the fact that they chose megami to be the main character, technically, the the point of view, because if it was Yuji, I believe that it would have it would have still had the same effect of like that the story has but it just wouldn't hit as hard as having Megumi as a main character.
I also really do appreciate that. They didn't make Yuji like a dumb muscle head. And that he does actually have like the emotional intelligence that he has in the actual show. I like, really do like how this author did that.
I also really do like that. They didn't feminize Megumi, in a way that is like the Y/N x CEO type shit.
This fic was genuinely amazing, and I really love the buildup to it. I really like the characterization. I really like the tone of it. I just like the overall message. Not really message, but I really like the theme of it. You know.
I definitely do recommend this fic re-reading it or to other people.

    Summary

The motions of their friendship are simple: Days that move too slowly passed with rebellious acts, hiding away in bathroom stalls doing anything but the schoolwork they’re skipping. Nights that pass too quickly moved by aimless texts and muffled giggles, as sleep-ridden eyes refuse to close. Weekdays spent sharing school desks and lunch boxes; weekends spent sharing a bed while an air mattress remains unmade. Perhaps, such a casual closeness was bound to bring something more.
Xiao hadn’t meant to fall in love with his best friend, he really hadn’t, but with a smile so charming and a laugh so endearing, how could he not? Such a shame it is, then, that Aether has the awareness of a toad about to be punted by a golf club:
    None.

/Xiao pining hard for Aether and making little effort to hide it, but Aether has rocks for brains and everything flies over his head.
