    Agatha still waits for when she and Tarvek can escape Sturmhalten, but they must stay to give the Circus as much time as possible to get away. Several days have passed since the Circus has left, and Agatha has learned much since, including of Tarvek's darkest duties. Seeing that what he does is just, she does not turn from him. Still uncertain of her feelings for Tarvek, nevertheless Agatha knows they only grow stronger for the one who is her greatest ally so far.

    There are still days to go and who knows what will happen in the interim...

    Lucrezia fails entirely to seduce Aaronev Wilhelm Sturmvoraus from both his marriage vows and his vows to the Order. She still succeeds in seducing Klaus Wulfenbach and Bill Heterodyne, along with some individuals within the Order itself. The fateful attack on Castle Heterodyne happens, Klaus Barry and Carson von Mekkhan’s son die in the attack, and the Heterodyne Boys disappear. The Other War wreaks devastation upon Europa; even Sturmhalten is not spared. Barry Heterodyne rescues his infant niece from the City of Silver Light, leaving devastation in his wake. Without the backing of the Order of Jove, the Geisterdamen loyal to Lucrezia seek help from elsewhere…
