Summary

Watching her draped in shadows and moonlight, surrounded by glistening sugar flowers and quietly weeping over the orchid in her palms... Shadow Milk Cookie couldn't help but think that Pure Vanilla was right. Again.
Pure Vanilla Cookie died. This changed everything.
Well, maybe not everything, but it changed enough.
It certainly ruined Shadow Milk's life more than it already was, but somehow also fixed it piece by piece. He's not sure what to feel about that. He's not really sure what to feel about anything, actually.
War preparations halt, time slows into a crawl, and cookiekind learns to breathe in the space created by the loss of one person.
In the distant horizon brews a storm that will decide the fate of this world. But Shadow Milk Cookie is not dealing with any of that right now because Custard Cookie III wants him to be friends with White Lily.
And what Custard Cookie III wants, Custard Cookie III gets, apparently.
