There was a flicker of light in bold emerald optics. One that often filled the darkest room with an immeasurable amount of hope. A light that flickered, dulling like a dimmer switch that had been turned in one fluid motion from max to off. Such a soft sob that sounded past a busted lip, swollen and bloody. That lone tear trailing over a cheek, painted red. Another soft sob sounded with each jostle of his frame against the cold concrete. The pressure that pinned his head, part of his neck, was suffocating. Kacchan... A mantra that played over and over like the end of a filmstrip that grained to black and white before ripping from it's reel to clatter to the floor...
An attempt, green trails of light flaring up around his form that puttered out before they even became something more than a whisp of smoke...

It’s hard to tell in the dark, but he thinks he can just about make out the way Erwin’s brows furrow.
“I’ll sleep on the couch,” he continues, “and I’ll make you breakfast. Take care of you.”
His large hand strokes through Levi’s hair; he forces down another whine.
“Look at you, hm? What do you say?”
His eyelids flutter, heavy, uncooperative. Erwin continues to pet through his hair, strong fingers pressing gently against his scalp.
Levi swallows.
“Okay.”
