He’d think about that later, what he’d said. The only thing—not the only person. Because it felt true. Most days, all that mattered was Lando. Racing, friends, fans—all of it came second to nothing when the contest was between Lando and them. Sometimes, Oscar felt like Lando was the ocean and he could drown in him. Happily. Willingly. As far as deaths go, he’d be satisfied letting the waves lull him under if they were the same dazed green-blue of his boyfriend's eyes. If he died gasping for air, breathless the way he always felt whenever he looked at his boyfriend, he’d be satisfied. "
