It started with a simple act of kindness. Peridot was struggling to carry a few boxes with clothing. and Lapis offered to take the weight. Peridot thought it was a one-time encounter with a nice stranger. She didn't know that Lapis was stalking her constantly after that. She definitely doesn't know that Lapis has no intention of ever letting anyone else hold Peridot's attention again.
