“Elphaba, just listen.” He leaned back, hands laced behind his head, fixing her with an intense stare. “You need a friend. Someone who has your back for the week. Someone you can trust. Galinda can be that person.”

    Summary

In a time different from ours, in a land unlike our own, on the outskirts of Pertha Hills, a distant household stood isolated from the rest of the town. A curse had haunted the women of the Arduenna clan for generations, born of a broken heart that had never been properly dealt with.

When Galinda Arduenna steps out of her family’s estate to experience university life, she vows that love is not for her and she will appreciate every opportunity to navigate the human world—at least temporarily. Everything goes according except for a small detail: Elphaba Thropp. Bold, abrasive, and often unfiltered, Elphaba is a thorn in Galinda’s side. She makes it nearly impossible for Galinda to maintain the fragile line between her ordinary human self and the wolf she becomes during full moons.

This is a story about unexpected connections, the ties forged in loneliness, and the struggle to accept ourselves—even when it’s hardest.

    Summary

“And do you usually break into your sister’s house in the middle of the night?”

“I—” Elphaba paused, frowning slightly at the women. “I didn’t break in,” she said mildly, shaking her head. “I used the door.”

She held up her keys, pointing them stupidly towards the door as if the woman wasn’t familiar with how the two functioned together.

The woman huffed, crossing her arms over her chest. “But why are you here?” she demanded. “It’s the middle of the night!”

“It’s eight o’clock,” Elphaba said, not really knowing why she was arguing that particular point. “Hardly the—”

“Alright!” the woman snapped, waving a dismissive hand around haphazardly. “You didn’t break in and it’s not the middle of the night. But what are you doing here?”

The symptoms were clear and undeniable: flushed cheeks, a racing heart, sweaty palms and a queasy stomach. Something crawling beneath her skin, throbbing with every passing second.

Hate. Galinda thought, every time their eyes met. It could only be hate.

    Summary

“Galinda, are you feeling well?” Elphaba asks tentatively, noting a bit of pallor to her lovely roommate’s cheeks. It’s not entirely uncommon, during Galinda’s periods of torpor, that she gets a little waxy-pale, but if she’s feeling under the weather, then wouldn't it be best to make her tea or something?

Golden hair tickling Elphaba's neck, Galinda’s head lolls to the side, looking up at Elphaba through her lashes. “I’m wonderful, darling–oh, don’t look at me like that, you’ll give me a heart murmur with such lovely eyes.” She sighs airily. "Truly, Elphie, I’m fine. Just…a bit peckish, is all."

    __________

Elphaba adores her roommate. When she finds out Galinda is a newly turned vampire, and a hungry one at that, she offers to let Galinda feed on her. She just isn't quite expecting to react as strongly as she does.
