Summary
Ash had already forgiven him. He had made it very clear that he is grateful for all Ewron had already done and his good intentions.
Still, something seemed to be taunting the assassin. Maybe it was just his unexplained urge to mess with the dark powers? He had admitted before that he liked it. He enjoyed wielding such great power as the ability to bring dead souls back to life. He was hungry for more power but in reality it was consuming him, little by little. He couldn't tell what his hunger was for anymore.
Food?
Power?
Approval?
Love?
All of that suddenly mixed together. Every resurrection comes with consequences after all.Bookmarked by CherryWaffles

Summary
He presses on the skin next to the slash. It brings more blood to the surface, leaking rain-like droplets onto his palm.
Shame burns beneath his navel; broils so brightly that it nearly extinguishes the flames of desire burning alongside it. He shouldn't have hurt him. That's all Ash tends to do these days, hurting those he loves.
Ash breathes out. It’s a shaky drag of air, and Ewron frowns.
"I'm fine," he assures. The words bounce off him like raindrops off a metal roof.
It doesn't matter if he's fine. Ash hurt him.
The lump that forms in his throat is sudden. He immediately swallows it down. Ewron's enjoying this, so he should too. It'd be selfish of him to stop this because he didn't like it.
Ash doesn't know why that line of thought seems so familiar.
Or, Ash and Ewron's needs don't quite sync up.

Summary
The first clue had been the silence.
Don’t get him wrong; Ash was very aware that Ewron was able to stay quiet when the situation needed it — as rarely as that occurred. This was empty, almost neglectful. A silence that meant nothing.
They stood in the middle of the ocean, a fair distance away from the shore of the Regime — its silhouette still visible in the horizon. Each had brought their own boat, per custom, one red, one lavender; the gentle push of the waves rocking them into the familiar comfort.
But Ewron wasn’t familiar anymore, and the ripples could not loosen the knot in Ash’s throat nearly enough to let him breathe.-
A short AU/Canon Divergence where Ewron's not quite himself, as far as Ash could tell.
