Summary
The words that escape his lips thrill him to his core. Leaves him rabid, nearly. "Ash, will you kill everyone with me if I do the same with you?"
The laugh that comes out of Ash tastes and feels like the most delirious kind.
"My blade," he whispers, almost like it's a sacred promise. Awed. "You are my blade." He tugs his hands free from Ewron's hold, choosing to thumb his cheek instead.
He feels stupid for thinking it now, that Ewron could ever turn his back on him. Sure, he's gotten lost in his own uninhibitedness a few times, but Ash would be lying if he said he hasn't done the same.
Like a wayward dog, he always comes back. Ewron is too loyal to stray far. Too devoted. Too obedient.
His obedient boy.
Or, Ewron is dedicated to prove his devotion to Ash.

Summary
Quesadilla Islands' weather was always perfect, with its balmy breezes and golden sunshine that never tipped into heat. Yet Ash feels impossibly cold.
His daughter is dead.
His daughter is dead, and it's all his fault. The blame rests solely on his shoulders. The weight of it nearly suffocates him, and he lets out a choked gasp.
Ash blinks rapidly, desperately trying to dispel the tears welling up in his eyes. Each attempt only makes it worse. With a ragged breath, he squeezes his eyes shut, pressing them together as hard as he can.
Maybe if he tries hard enough, it'll ease the stifling guilt churning in his stomach. Just long enough to fall asleep. Just long enough to escape the haunting memories replaying incessantly in his mind.
It's a stupid thought. Still, he clings to it hard enough to get rope burn.
There's a word for when wives lose their husbands, and a word for when children lose their parents. However, there isn’t a word for when parents lose their children.
Or, two grieving fathers "comfort" each other.

Summary
Ash exhales through his nose, his patience running thin like a rubber band. That is, if it hasn't already snapped. "I have nothing to hide from you."
"She said the exact words—"
"—Then she's lying to your face—"
"—Oh, really?"
Ewron grabs a fistful of his shirt, tugging him impossibly closer. He keeps talking. Ash feels his breath ghost over his lips. Warm, like the heat radiating from his skin when they're this close.
He keeps fucking talking. He ought to shut up.
If he won't do it himself, then Ash might have to do it for him.
Or, Ash and Ewron's KFC divorce takes a different turn, rather than them talking it out.

Summary
Ewron likes to think he's a very capable man, and an even more capable assassin.
Sure, the Hussars, his hit squad, keep him in the dark about their plans, which is funny considering he grew up with them, but that only makes him more independent.
Regardless, they trust him to get the job done. That’s all he needs. They wouldn’t have chosen him from the four of them to assassinate the Supreme Leader of The Regime if they didn't trust him.
Then again, maybe that doesn’t hold much weight. He’s the only person in their entire group who carries out the killings.
Or, Ash and Ewron both plan to kill each other, but end up more attached than they should be.

Summary
Ewron thumbs the rough mattress of the bed he's sitting on. "I don't care about whatever happened with you and Katie," he bites.
Ash's brow twitches. "So then why'd you ask me—"
"—Because this isn't one of those meetings," he interrupts, cheeks flushing pink. He doesn't even look him in the eye, which is a good thing. Ash’s expression isn't any less embarrassing.
The silence that falls between them is unnerving. Makes Ash want to pick at his skin, his entire being.
He'd start with the heart, twisting and tearing the ventricles apart so he wouldn't have to feel so much for this absolute fucking idiot.
Ewron would rather fuck it out than apologize to him.
At least, that's what Ash assumes his intentions are, considering his words and the fact that he'd brought him to a cabin with only a bed.
Or, after they argue over Katie and KFC (again), Ash and Ewron need to blow off some steam. Luckily, Ewron has just the solution.

Summary
He can only sit there, staring at Ewron as if the world is about to collapse around him and tear him apart. Is he shaking? He can’t quite tell.
Logically, Ash should feel angry. Hateful. That's what normal people feel whenever they come across their ex in public. Sure, there's a tight knot in his stomach, but he wouldn't call that hate.
There's a part of him that feels a hint of yearning woven in, too. Not that he’ll acknowledge it.
Ewron rises to his feet and flicks his eyes up and down his face like he’s waiting for Ash to say something.
He doesn't know if he can.
Or, Ash and Ewron make (and mend) their family, however strange their methods may be.

Summary
He presses on the skin next to the slash. It brings more blood to the surface, leaking rain-like droplets onto his palm.
Shame burns beneath his navel; broils so brightly that it nearly extinguishes the flames of desire burning alongside it. He shouldn't have hurt him. That's all Ash tends to do these days, hurting those he loves.
Ash breathes out. It’s a shaky drag of air, and Ewron frowns.
"I'm fine," he assures. The words bounce off him like raindrops off a metal roof.
It doesn't matter if he's fine. Ash hurt him.
The lump that forms in his throat is sudden. He immediately swallows it down. Ewron's enjoying this, so he should too. It'd be selfish of him to stop this because he didn't like it.
Ash doesn't know why that line of thought seems so familiar.
Or, Ash and Ewron's needs don't quite sync up.
