Summary
Astarion Ancunin has been a professor teaching law for as long as he can remember. While he considers himself an expert of sorts in the laws and court systems of this world, there is one thing that continues to elude him: how he was granted the gift of eternity that allows him to remain in his profession for as long as he so chooses. He has learned a significant amount when it comes to hiding his particular vampiric nature from those around him, but will it be enough to convince Seleste Barlowe, the new psychology professor with a passion for vampire folklore?
Disclaimer: The main character in this story, Seleste Barlowe, goes by she/they pronouns. Just to clear up any confusion that might surround pronouns throughout the story!

Astarion’s back hits the dirt hard, and the look of genuine shock on his face is worth all these days of putting up with him. You’ve got him pinned down, straddling his waist and keeping him in place with your weight—and the stake you have held to his chest, needing nothing more than one swift swing down to puncture his undead heart.
“Do you know how long I’ve been waiting?” You sneer, leaning closer.
Astarion cocks an eyebrow, eyes drifting down to your seated position on his lap. “Depends… Remove the whole ‘stake to my chest’ thing and I’d say about the same time as me.”* * *
You were a Gur. A monster hunter. And you were on a hunt.
Your people were going missing, children being taken. You know it's a vampire, and through some helpful sources, you even knows its name.
You were going to find this 'Astarion', and you were going to bring him to justice. You weren't going to let the fact that you had been kidnapped and placed onto a Nautiloid ship with a parsite in your brain sidetrack you from that.
