Summary
Prince Auriel Enanduil’s admirers could populate a small kingdom, but a lifetime spent under the scrutiny of an overbearing father and unforgiving Elvish court has left him yearning for a life beyond palace walls. Filled with dread by his impending marriage to a possessive prince, Auriel flees his homeland by hiding in a trading caravan, but when the caravan is attacked by bandits, he falls down a hillside and into the care of Orin, a surprisingly gentle orc with a deep admiration for Elvish culture. Injured and alone in an unfamiliar land, Auriel hides his royal origins and accepts Orin’s hospitality, but what begins as a necessary means of survival soon progresses into a journey of self-discovery, as both sides learn to accept their bodies, confront their pasts, and redefine what it means to be beautiful.

Summary
Gale yelps as Astarion's very cold fingers find his midriff. Astarion laughs, burrowing deeper under Gale's robe.
“Ah-ha, Astarion, did you take an ice bath on the way here?” Gale protests.
“Well usually I wake up to somebody very ready to warm me up.” Astarion purrs.
“You know what they say; cold hands, warm heart,” Gale says, absently.
Astarion pinches him, gently.
“Ow!” Gale protests, “What, you're allowed to come and put your hands all over me but I'm not allowed to make comments like that?”
“You can do better, love,” Astarion says, sniffily. “That was practically lazy. I'm afraid I've become accustomed to a much higher calibre of charm.”
“Are you insinuating that I have somehow spoiled you, Astarion?”
“For anyone else, absolutely,” Astarion agrees, sadly.
Shadowheart sighs.
“Glad you two are as disgusting as ever,” she says.Series

“I swear on my-” Astarion choked on his spit. “My what?”
“Your undead life?” Gale tilted his head like a confused puppy. “Did you think the whole vampire thing was a secret?”
“Well. kind of?”
Gale laughed in earnest. “Astarion, I know you can’t see yourself but you have to understand what you look like. You look like whatever an emo kid imagines when they picture themselves grown up, with your perfect hair, eyeliner, and the leather jacket thing.”
“I-”
“Also if the ethereal beauty wasn't enough, you have a blood flask in your jacket pocket at all times.”
Astarion blinked, but quickly gained his composure, a damn near predatory grin stretching across his lips, highlighted by the fact that he was no longer hiding his fangs. “So you think I'm beautiful, wizard boy?”
Gale rolled his eyes, trying to keep the flush off his cheeks. “Of course I do, Astarion.”
