He had called Dennis over to his place one night, heart racing harder than it had any right to, and told him he needed space. “I need to take a break from seeing anyone.” He’d said carefully.
Dennis had gone still. His eyes, those ridiculously expressive eyes, had flickered with something that looked like his heart breaking in real time. But he’d nodded, a sad smile on his face.
“Okay.” Dennis had said gently. Too gently. “If that’s what you need.”
That was what gutted Robby. Dennis had been so damn nice about it.Or, Robby’s avoidant tendencies get the best of him, and after falling head over heels in love with Dennis, he decides he needs space.
