No matter how much Obito deluded himself, Deidara too had a nature that could not be suppressed or ignored for long.
All this time, regardless of the reality Obito believed in, Deidara was suffering. From the very beginning, he could not be happy under Obito's protection.
But what else was I supposed to fucking do?!Or, a tale of how a daitengu picked up an umbrella with a spirit in it. Are the things as pre-destined as they seem, or is there a way to co-exist with the inevitable?

Obito stuck out his puffed up lips. He did not like learning about anyone probing something of his partner's, much less that wannabe Leader of his organization. He muttered in annoyance, "I didn't hear anything about any meeting. Are you sure you didn't just have a nightmare? I can cheer you up after the horrors of seeing work even in your dreams..."

This is all the reason why.

Obito feels his fingers clench over his face as his jaws grow tighter. Something in his chest - likely the all-encompassing fear and fury - makes him want to scream and crash his head against the invisible floor, trying to reject what was awaiting him, no matter how much he tried to run from it or whom he was willing to drag down along with himself.
...I suppose I will follow the fate I tried to escape from and cease to exist.Or, a story of a (daimyo's court) artist and the ghost haunting him through all eternity.

Or, One-Tail had been successfully captured and sealed within Gedo Mazo, however everything that could have gone wrong went wrong. Obito is forced to deal with the consequences that jeopardize the entire plan. It does not help that he is still trying to make sense of his last meeting with Deidara in Amegakure.

Is the sun closer to red or yellow?
Deidara can't really tell at this point, not after spending however long he was sitting on the balcony of the presidential suite. The sun was setting over the horizon, turning the blue of the skies above into a clear expanse of pure orange and igniting the seas in which it was submerging on fire. Black dots begin dancing in his view, distracting him, but he doesn't have time for such minor issues, the time was running out. He doesn't care if they will spend several weeks on this cruise, he just knows it won't be the same as his first time opening the balcony door and being blasted with everything about this scene, he must capture it before the moment is gone forever and he is left with nothing but his own pale memories.Or, Deidara and Obito setting off for a vacation on a cruise ship. Both of them are excited for things to come.
