"The company, the smell of Vergil, like cherry blossom and lilac, strawberries and cream is a warm blanket in winter. The touch of a lover that revitalizes Dante, makes him feel everything good and pure. Chases away nightmares and guilt, the ever-present fear of and yet wish for death."
Vergil cleans the Devil May Cry, and Dante cleans his conscience in turn.

At the first thought of her friend, Elphaba lets out a strangled cry as she is hit with a wave of arousal unlike anything she has ever experienced before.

// What if the girls kissed during What Is This Feeling? How would that affect their friendship? What would their time at Shiz be like? This is the same first chapter as my But What If They Kissed series but with chapter 2 posted! I decided to expand on this particular canon divergence because I had so many cute scenes in my head that hinged on the girls already having a history rather than kissing for the first time at various points in the original story.

Summary
He remembered the day Vergil showed up at their family home’s doorstep, surprising their mother and Dante after three years of little to no contact. At twenty-seven with two degrees under his belt, Vergil looked just as self-satisfied as he always had, and every bit an accomplished academic. He announced he would be taking a job at Dante’s academy, where he had previously studied himself, all while avoiding his younger brother’s eyes.
Which was fine— if Vergil wanted to bury whatever metaphorical hatchet they shared, Dante could play along. It would be fun to see just how long Vergil could hold out before something inside him snapped.
