Summary
Sailing as Captain of the Kraken, Simon "Ghost" Riley follows his Admiral in a fleet of ships sent to exterminate the Barbary Coast pirates. Things didn't go well for the English in that one. He squares off against the Suleiman’s Hook and Captain John Price, former navy man. When the English turn tail, Price's first mate, Soap, claims Ghost as his share of the loot.

Johnny bit his shoulder, made Simon jump. “Ye’re not a thief. Ye’re a king. Captain of the finest ship in these waters, and my fucking husband, soon as ye let Price say the words.”
“Where will we go?” he asked quietly.
“Anywhere the wind carries us.”

“Your fellow guests await,” the caretaker said, pausing to straighten the lapels of his suit. “If you’ll join us.”
“Aye, Ah’ll do my best to get along.” John flicked a glance up and down the caretaker, letting himself appreciate the view. He lingered a half-beat longer on those golden eyes. “And yerself, Mister?”
“Riley. Simon Riley.” The caretaker’s gaze held steady, like he could see clean through to the bone. “Caretaker of the estate.”
“Ah, grand. Now it’s a proper show, innit?” he couldn’t resist. “How’re ye fixed for candlesticks, Simon? Or do we do dinner first, aye, and get stabbed after?”
There was a pause, a ripple of something that might’ve been laughter behind the mask. “We take our cues from the classics, Mr. MacTavish. But tonight’s menu is bespoke.”

“You ever hear me get snuck up on, MacTavish?” voice like dark honey, rough around the edges but warm, too.
“My cats get close. Sometimes. Nae a wizard yet who can ward off Beam when he’s on the hunt for a puddin’ cup.” Soap grinned, teeth flashing.
“Could say the same for their owner.” Ghost’s lips twitched, the barest quirk at the side of the mask.
