Description:

An AU where, instead of the TV murders and Personas, Yosuke was mysteriously killed six months prior to Yu's arrival, and now he's some kind of wind/rain yokai. From there the plot instead follows Yu trying to figure out what happened to him, but fate still leads him to making friends with most of the IT regardless and finding the supernatural origin to Yosuke's murder.

Most of the cast experience little to no character development related to the issues they have during main Persona 4. Events change or are missing depending on how much Yosuke was involved with them.

Notes:

Yu himself spends most of the tale with "low" social stats, meaning he lacks most of the confidence and interpersonal understanding his Anime incarnation has. Besides his interactions with Yosuke, most of Ame no Yūrei focuses on his relationship with Dojima, how his lies and cowardice drive a wedge into their relationship, and Yoichi Hanamura, Yosuke's grieving father. He also makes "friends" with other yokai, including the the shrine fox, who turns out to be a kitsune.
