Chapter Text

When the trio walked into class the next day, everyone was standing around Lila as she’s crying. “Ohh, Lila why are you crying?” Marinette feigns innocence.

“Why are you being nice to me?” Lila sniffs, wiping her eyes.

“I’m always nice,” Marinette shrugs. She catches the glare Lila throws at her as she turns to go to her seat. Chloe and Alya following close behind.

“So why are you crying?” Rose asks, rubbing Lila’s back.

“Black Death threatened me last night, she put her katana to my throat,” Lila whimpers.

“Lila, I hate to tell you this, but Black Death doesn’t talk and I’m pretty sure just yesterday you said that Black Death was a guy, were you lying?” Rose asks, innocently.

“Class, Lila has a lying disorder so sometimes she gets mixed up with what she says,” Miss Bustier said before anyone else could say anything. “Now class is starting soon, everyone quiet down and take a seat.”

Marinette couldn’t help but smile at the semi-shocked face of her classmates.

During lunch, Lila was surrounded by her angry classmates. Adrien breaks the circle and steps by Lila. “Guys getting angry at her won’t change anything.”

Marinette left, she went home to see her mama and papa, she couldn’t stand to be around her classmates Alya and Chloe follow shortly behind her.

“God they’re just awful!” Chloe shouts, taking a seat at the table.

“Is it Lila again, dears?” Sabine says, entering the kitchen.

“Yeah she’s honestly the worst,” Alya says, laying her head down on the table.

“I can’t wait till graduation,” Marinette sighs, grabbing a glass from the cabinet.

“We haven’t talked about this a lot, do you guys have any plans after graduation?” Alya asks.

“I mean yeah I do, I want to maybe find my parents and just to do good-ish deeds,” Marinette shrugs. She heats up leftovers from the night before. “You guys alright with some homemade Chinese food from last night?”

“Yeah, Mama Sabine makes the best food,” Alya says, grabbing herself a glass of water.

“Grab me one won’t you,” Chloe asks, filing her nails.

“Yeah, yeah whatever,” Alya says, rolling her eyes but pulls out a second glass for her.

They spend their lunch talking about what they want to do in their futures. When they went back to class it was awful, people were arguing some defending Lila others criticizing her. But no one apologized to Marinette for all the terrible things they said and did to her. She shouldn’t have expected anything different.

Before she knew it was time for graduation and she couldn’t be happier. She ranked top of her class and was asked to speak during the graduation.

“As we are now adults or going to be about to be adults, I’ve been asked to leave you all with some advice that should help you in the future. Life won’t always go your way and that’s fine because you have to be able to adapt to these changes. You have to overcome and prove that you’re stronger and better than the problem. While there have been problems in our pasts, it’s how we use our past to improve ourselves, go forth and live the best life you can,” Marinette says, faking a smile.

Later that night after the graduation party, she burnt down her symbol in the field that's on the outskirts of Paris, knowing the news would cover it. She hoped that maybe if her dad or her mom was alive they would see it and now she was alright. The very next day, Chloe, Alya, and Marinette pack their bags and flew to America.
