Chapter Text
Baran feels the buzz of a notification in her pocket. She stretches her neck, side to side, the exhaustion of the day finally sinking in, and pulls the phone out of her pocket, the corners of her mouth automatically pulling upward at the name.
Trinity Santos.
Her girlfriend.
She still can't believe she gets to say Trinity is her girlfriend.
It took Trinity approximately three weeks to warm up to her, still nervous at the possibility of Baran making her redo her R2 year. It's only when she found out Langdon was forced to move to night shift—Ellis complained about his whining at one of their get togethers,Trinity once said while she and Baran drank wine and juice at the latter's house, ignoring the suffocating sexual tension between them—that Trinity approached Baran with furious green eyes, spewing how she could've handled everything, how she doesn't need someone to fight her battles.
At first, Baran was suprised at the outburst, finding it highly unprofessional, and if she was honest, she was also a little hurt at it. She only wanted to protect Trinity, not get the girl mad at her. But after catching her in the locker room, they had a deep conversation about everything, that Baran realised that's just how Trinity operates.
She hates to rely on other people, she hates it even more to trust other people, because she has learned that trusting people can cost you your life.
With that in mind, she tried to befriend Trinity, and was suprised at how quickly they got comfortable around each other, how Trinity unconsciously started to rely on Baran, started to trust her, how she would let her guard down when it's just them two in Baran's living room, a glass of wine finding itself in Trinity's hand while Baran is more than happy with a glass of orange juice or cold water, and they would just talk about everything and anything.
They tried really hard to ignore the unexplainable connection between them, the tension whenever Trinity rubs Baran's arm while they talk, Baran's eyes tracing Trinity's face and body as if she wants to memorize it, or how they could not stop touching each other, with a tug on the wrist, a quick squeeze of the knee or shoulder and hands on the waist whenever one of them is passing the other.
They tried really hard but ultimately failed, ending up in Baran's bed with mouths clashing, bodies against each other and hands mapping out every curve, rubbing slower or faster circles based on the other's reaction and holding each other while they come.
Of course Trinity ran away, and Baran tried not to feel hurt at it, knowing Trinity's history with previous partners, but she gave the girl some time and space and after a few exhausting weeks of avoiding each other's eyes, Trinity finally came back to her.
And now they're girlfriends.
Who loves each other.
God, Baran can't help to be sappy whenever it comes to Trinity.
And she misses her so much.
So fucking much it hurts.
The latter being in the Phillipines for three weeks with her family doesn't help with the longing.
But Baran can't help the way her heart clenches painfully whenever she reach out on the bed and Trinity's not there, or whenever her eyes search the Emergency Department for a specific R2 just to realise she's not there.
Shaking her head, she replies to her girlfriend's message, with a soft smile plastering her face.
Fuck.
Trinity is really trying to kill her right now.
She looks around, seeing no one's watching her, and moves to the locker room, heart already beating erratically at the sight.
Baran groans at that.
Baran stand with her back against the locker, breathing raggedly, and licking her lips imagining Trinity just came in her mouth. When she tried to stand straight, she felt her panty sitting wetly against her cunt, and her breath stuttered when her clit lightly grazed her it. Her phone buzzed in her hand and she reads Trinity's message.
The locker room's door burst open with two of the night shift nurses, coming in and laughing at something on Gersherlah's phone.
"Oh, Hi Dr Al, going home?"
Mason, the other nurse, asks.
"Hello—", She greets them both, ignoring the slick between her legs and the heartbeat in her throat,"—and yes, finally get to go home."
"Enjoy your evening further."
He says while Baran gathers her stuff, eager to go home and take care of herself.
"You too."
