Sydney has always been tough. She had to be. She's a black girl who grew up in Chicago with a single father so she knows what it feels like to be heartbroken. All those fake time white boys dated her for “thrills” or “as a dare” but she really thought Carmen would be different.
“Carmen Anthony Berzatto you are a dead man do you hear me!” Natalie screams as she walks into the kitchen “whoa, chill sugar the fuck did I do?” Carmy says coming out of the walk in “what you did is you broke another one of my friends heart.”she says spotting him “again!” Natalie says stomping up to him “what?” A very confused carmy says “you asked Sydney out and didn't even show up Carmen.” Natalie says, visibly irritated and pinching the bridge of her nose.
Carmy stomach dropped out of his ass. “I did what?” He says with a horrified look on his face “I-what-no-Natalie I need you to tell me exactly what you’re talking about in complete detail.” Carmen says leaning down and grabbing both her arms “what?” Natalie says visibly confused “did you or did you not ask Sydney out?” by now carmy looks like hes about to drop dead “NO!” He says with his hands in his hair looking visibly distraught “then why did you ask her for dinner and never show up,Carmen!?” She says, still clearly mad “I NEVER ASKED HER TO DINNER SUG!!” Carmy says now leaning against the wall with his face in his hands.
“Then why did Sydney tell me you stood her up?” Natalie says extremely visibly confused now “I don’t know sugar you're the one that still talks to her.” he says now crouching on the ground “carm…when was the last time you talked to Sydney?” Natalie says now crouching in front of him “carm?” She says nudging him slightly “since…” he says his face still covered with his hands “what bear?” Natalie says trying to coax a better answer out of him “not since the argument we had.” Carmen says finally looking up from out of his hands but immediately avoiding her eyes
“Bear…” Natalie says shocked “you haven’t talked to her in 3 fucking months Carmen!?” She says her voice getting louder at the end and standing up “no, I haven’t what if she hates me” he says getting up as well “carmy I can tell you that Sydney does not-I mean at least she didn’t hate you know why? because you stood her up because you’re a fucking cunt.” She says jabbing into his chest “I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW WE WERE SUPPOSED TO GO ON A DATE!” He says frustrated tears forming in his eyes “carm fix this,now.” She says taking his phone of the counter and pushing it into his chest “how sug I already fucked up with Claire” he says catching his phone “I don’t fucking know carmy and it better be good because we need Sydney in this restaurant.” She says before walking back to the front of the house.
“Yo bear you are fucked all the way up the ass with this one bro” Richie says after Carmen gives him a recap “yea I know that why I came to you dipshit” he says sitting down at a table in a cafe “I don’t know why your asking me you know how my marriage went Carm” he says sitting down across from carmy “yea but your dating Jess so you must’ve done something right to still get someone” carmy mutter the last part under his breath “yo fuck you I heard that” he says pushing carmys head slightly “yea whatever so are you gonna help me or not, cousin?”
“Yea sure but first let’s order isnt this why you came to this place” richie says looking around the cafe they’re in “yea Sydney once said they’re food is amazing” he says getting up to order “you coming with?” Carmy asks Richie “nah I’m gonna go smoke find me when you’re done.” Richie says as he gets up to leave “you really gotta stop those,rich” carmy says “whatever bear” Richie’s says going outside
The waitress at the counter is a blonde girl in her 20’s she greets carmy with a chipper “hello,what can I get for you?” In a Deep Southern accent “you’re not from here are you?” Carmy asks “nope born and raised in Texas” shes says “oh” Carmy says and it seems the friendly cashier took the hint to end the conversation there “can I get the uhh- two maple bacon donuts with two black coffees please” he says pointing at the menu “ alright and that will be $12.86 cash or card?” shes says ringing him up “uh cash please” carmy says reaching into his pocket to get a crumpled 20 dollar bill “keep the change” carmy says putting both hands in his pockets “oh thank you so much and a name for the order?” She says grabbing a cup and sharpie “oh uh carmy” he says a little surprised “ok carmy we will call you when it’s ready” she says handing him his receipt “thanks” he says before walking back to his and Richie’s table -where is he- carmy thinks
A minute later Richie comes back to the table “so, bear what did you’re chef Brain order us” he says as he pokes carmys head “you’ll see, rich” he says checking his phone for what seems like the millionth time “you waiting on text or something?” Richie says noticing his disappointed expression “oh uh no it’s nothing” he says putting his phone in his pocket “CARMY” he quickly gets up to get the food they didn’t exactly spell his name right they spelt it as carmi instead of the regular spelling “so what went down between you and syd was crazy,right we know this we need to figure out how to fix it” Richie says as carmys sitting down “I fucking know rich thats why I came to you” he says giving Richie his donut and coffee “yo cousin what the fuck is this” Richie says looking at the donut “it’s a maple bacon donut try it” carmy says pushing the donut towards Richie “bear you have some interesting taste buds” Richie says before taking a bite of the donut he immediately spits it out “yo cousin this shit is absolute balls Carm” he says taking a sip of his coffee “whatever rich I like it” he says taking a bite out of his donut.
“So are you going to help me or not?” Carmy asks “yea I’ll help you but only because your a loser who get absolutely no play at all” Richie says “oh fuck you rich” carmy says pushing Richie’s head back “ok so the plan is…” Richie says as they both lean in
