Chapter 1: Chapter 1

Chapter Text

To be completely honest, the situation Shouta Aizawa found himself in on a late Sunday night was probably his own fault. He was running low on eyedrops, and the dry fall air was definitely not helping with his burning eyes. So, after sending a notice to his students that he would be out running errands for a few hours, he began walking the mall.

Sure, his vision wasn’t exactly the best at that moment, but he was a man on a mission, and anyone who got it his way would face his wrath. Er- his exhausted, sore, and less caffeinated than average wrath. So yeah, him bumping into a woman in the mall was no surprise.

The lady seemed to be in a hurry, messy pastel green hair tied up a loose bun, stacks of paper and files held precariously in her arms. They collided, Shouta having been staring at his phone, his notes app open to a list of stuff his students needed.

He had looked up just in time for the two to bonk heads, the women crying out in pain as he grunted, both collapsing to the ground, slowly recovering.

“Oh- Oh I am so sorry- I’m so sorry sir- I- I have to get going- I’m terribly sorry sir!” She mumbled, hastily picking up her papers before speeding off, leaving Shouta flabbergasted on the ground, slowly blinking in shock.

Well that just happened

He sighed in relief as he stumbled in front of the dorms, multiple bags of groceries and other miscellaneous items stacked in his hands and hanging off his arms. He kicked the door open, a knee holding it in place as he shimmied into the common room, dropping the parcels onto the dining table with a thunk.

Let's see…eye drops…eye drops….ah! There we go-

He raised the dropper to his weary eyes, practically already feeling the sweet, sweet relief, before letting out an embarrassing squawk as Mic tackled him from behind.

“Shou!! Heyo! You’re back!” the blond giggled, hanging off Shouta’s back as he startled, the eyedrops spilling a decent amount of fluid onto Shouta’s face. He wheezed at the added weight, sputtering, before tossing the blonde off.

“‘Zashi! You made me spill…” he grumbled, hastily whipping the mess up. “These are expensive you know-”

“Yeah, yeah, my bad! Oh hey, what's this stuff all for? I thought you were just getting your eye thing or whatever!”

Shouta looked down at the dinner table, the heaps of snacks and other products piled together. “‘s stuff for the k- students.” He muttered, hiding his blushing face in his scarf, slightly flustered that he was caught being a softy, especially by the blonde he…maybe had feelings for.

“Awee- Shou!” The blonde squeezed him in a hug again, his long hair tickling Shouta’s nose. “I’ll go get the kiddos, let them know the ‘Aizawa express’ arrived, yeah?”

He gave Shouta one final squeeze before running off, unaware of the situation he left behind.

A sharp burst of pain suddenly struck Shouta, bolts of lightning and splashes of acid burning in his veins. He bit back a cry, curling in on himself, the pain growing in strength as the sensation seemed to dip lower. It burned, uncomfortable and tingly in the worst of ways, his lower abdomen throbbing. He grunted, stumbling before leaning over the table, shuddering as sweat started running down his brow.

“...Mr. Aizawa?”

He looked up, biting back a gag at his swimming vision, squinting at the sight of Yaomomo glancing over him worriedly. “I…I heard you brought back some stuff for the students- are you feeling okay?”

He wheezed, trying to steady himself. “Y-Yeah…sorry, stood up too fast-”

“Oh…well- uh-”

“I…I’m g-gonna go- make sure everyone gets the right stuff…” he muttered, stumbling away to the elevator.

“...right- t-take care, sensei-”

Shouta hardly focused on her words, fumbling with the elevator's buttons, before heading downstairs to his room. Not bothering with the lights, he slammed the door open, closed it behind him, and collapsed onto his sleeping bag, confused and in pain.

The next few weeks were so incredibly average that Shouta almost completely forgot about the so-called “weird as heck stomach pain situation”, but then he just had to wake up on a Tuesday morning feeling like he got hit by a bus.

And while Shouta may be famous for exaggerating or being extreme, the nausea he was fighting at that moment was completely justified by that description. He dragged himself from his sleeping bag, grunting and swaying as a shaking hand clutched his stomach.

Ughh…

He felt miserable, really. Getting dressed took way longer than it should have, and by the time he was heading upstairs he found himself seconds away from the reappearance of last night's supper.

Its okay…its gonna be okay- just hold on until the day is over-

But alas, the world seemed to laugh in his face, his luck as bad as always. The scent of coffee and other breakfast items his students were whipping up hit his senses, and it took all his effort not to hurl at that exact moment.

Nope! Nope, nope no way-

He spun around, practically a 360 motion, and sprinted all the way back to his room, just in time to make it to his bathroom addition. He collapsed in front of the cool porcelain, body trembling, and after a few seconds of dry heaving and gagging he finally got sick.
