Work Text:
Ever since Colin had moved into the apartment that used to be Eloise’s and Penelope’s, he has been in hell. Living with Penelope has been torture. Honestly, all Colin can think about is Penelope.
Penelope smells divine, vanilla with a hint of citrus and tulips. He could live in those scents and would die happily. She always smells delicious right after she finishes taking a shower. And whenever she passes by, he always tries to initiate a hug, just so he can take a whiff of her hair. Most of the time, she does accept the hug and every once in a while she hugs him extra tight.
Penelope is always a vision whenever he looks at her. He loves the way that she looks when she wakes up. Sometimes she sleeps with a braid and when she lets it out, her hair turns into waves and her hair looks as if it was a waterfall made of fire. Sometimes she really doesn’t do anything because by the end of the day, she’s too tired to manage anything from working at Danbury’s Publishing.
Colin always loves those days, those are the days when he sees the true Penelope. He always chuckles to himself when he sees how annoyed Pen is when there hasn’t been any coffee brewed in the morning after Colin drinks it all, sometimes he does this just so he can see how her nose does this little scrunch that he finds adorable. God, how does he loves this woman so much.
The one thing that he does hate living with Penelope is the way that she has a boyfriend and she sometimes takes him to apartment. Ever since arriving from Italy, he had quite a shock to find out that she had a boyfriend. It’s not that she is not worth it, because that woman totally is, but the shock is that she is dating that jerk, something something Fife. Colin really does not know or care what his name is, he just knows that he hates that guy. The way that that Fife guy looks at Pen is something that just doesn’t sit right with Colin. He looks at her like she is a type of meat, and honestly Pen is too good for that guy, she deserves someone better.Someone like him.
All of this silence and patience, pining and anticipation, my hands are shaking from holding back from you, ah, ah, ah
“So you’re going on a date with that Fife guy tonight? “
“Yes Col, he’s taking me out to this fancy restaurant that is in the middle of London, and then we are going to his apartment.” She said as she was looking over at her dress in the mirror. God, does she looks like a Goddess in that little black dress, and it makes her boobs look so good! Colin said to himself, nearly biting his knuckles. That’s how good she looked. So good and so ripe.
“Well, give me a call in case you need anything at all. I mean it Pen.” He replied back, leaning against the door frame of her room. Still thinking about the way her dress just wraps around her frame so tight.
“I know Colin and thank you for saying that. You’re such a good friend. I’m so happy that you’re back. ” She says in a soft voice, with a hint of longing. She turns to look over at the window when they both hear a honk coming from downstairs.
“He’s here! Bye Colin!” She says as she’s leaving the room.
Colin wakes up with the sound of a door slamming close. He didn’t see her but he knew that the date did not turn out to be good. He hears Pen going to her room throwing her shoes on the way down. He really couldn’t say anything as by the time that he got up from the sofa he heard Pen in her room and turned on her radio to play Taylor Swift. Yeah, looks like the date did not turn out good.
“Pen, is everything ok? Are you ok?” He asked, knocking on the door. He tried to ask again before Penelope yelled at him, “Everything is ok Colin, leave me alone!” Was said with a watery tone. With that tone, he knew that she was crying.
“Pen open the door, talk to me, what happened?” He asked again.
“No, leave me alone! I don’t want to talk about it!” She yelled back, Colin almost didn’t hear her since Taylor was still playing in the background.
As Colin turns towards the kitchen, about to open a wine bottle, he hears her door opening.
“Colin,” she sniffles, “Can you help me to unzip the dress, please?” He heard her ask, turning around and he saw her trying to unzip the dress but with no help.
“Yeah, come here.” He says as she slowly walks towards him.
Say my name and everything else just stops, I don’t want you like a best friend, only bought this dress so you could take it off
While he tried to unstick the zipper from the dress, he hears her murmur under her breath.
“You know this song reminds me of you,” She says, looking down and not moving hoping that Colin is able to unzip the dress faster.
“What, what did you say?”
“That this song reminds me of you.” She replied back, with the tone of her voice a little bit more firmer.
Take it off, ha, ha, ha , carve your name into my bedpost
“Why?” He asks back, finally done unzipping the dress holding her, caressing her arms.
“Because I don’t want you as a best friend, Colin, I want you as something more. I want us to be something more.” She says turning around looking him straight in the eyes. Her blue eyes, the ones that remind him of the waters of Greece.
“What about that Fife guy? What happened on the date?” He asks, trying so hard to not looking down below her face. He knows that if he were to see below her face, he could see those ripe breasts.
‘Cause I don’t want you like a best friend, only bought this dress so you could take it off
“He broke up with me, because he knew that the relationship was not going to go anywhere. He knew that you mattered more to me that he ever could. So he told me that it was going to be either him or you, and well..” She says, looking down, letting the dress fall to the floor.
Colin looks down as well, taking her in and looking into her eyes. “Well what Pen?”
“Well, it’s always going to be you Col, it always has been.” She says, wrapping her arms around his neck.
“Me? Really?” He replied back smiling, pulling her towards him. Their lips gently brushing against each other.
“Yes, you Colin, really really.” She says, pulling him towards her, crushing their lips together. Both of them breathing a sigh of relief, finally getting what they have wanted for a long while.
Carve your name into my bedpost, ‘cause I don’t want you like a best friend, only bought this dress so you could take it off
