An anima, the author of the book explained, was someone you had complete affinity with. All magical people had one, a person who would completely get you, fulfil you in a way no other person ever could. They could be family or a close friend, but more often than not people who shared such an intimate connection ended up falling in love. When their magic reached maturity, this connection manifested physically and witches and wizards got a mark in their body to identify their anima.
Someone whose soul was completely in tune with yours. The concept far surpassed Hermione’s expectations. To think that there was someone out there who would truly understand her -who would love her as she was. It was an astonishing thought.
Winter had fallen. The dragons were all dead. The lions were fading and the roses were wilting. War still ravaged the south, famine and poverty covered the Riverlands, and White Walkers descended on the north. The entire realm was about to fall into the darkness.
But she could save them. She could chose to rewrite it all, to use magic to make the world right again. Melisandre warned her that it came with a price, all magic did. But she had nothing left to lose in this realm. Everyone she had ever loved was dead. Whatever price the new world came at, she would pay it. Even if meant her existence was erased, saving those that she loved was worth it.

This war had changed her.
And it hadn’t made itself known until she’d seen Harry and Ron on the ground - their eyes glassy and their skin grey - not until her best friends were dead before her own eyes, only then did she realise that she would do anything, go to any length, to end this fucking war. She would be ruthless. She would pry weapons and advantages from cold, dead hands if the occasion called for it. She’d feel the guilt later, when she had time and safety on her side to let it consume her. For now, she’d only do what was necessary to survive. And fucking win.
Hermione Granger is desperate to fix the mess created at the Battle of Hogwarts. Theodore Nott may have the solution.
