Work Text:
A lavender-haired man walked towards the telephone when it rang. He looked at the displayed number for a second before picking up.
“Giorno.”
“Buona serata, Abbachio, I need to ask a favour from you.”
“What is it?”
“My teacher wants to speak to my parents about my performance at school…well you know what my parents are like so I’m thinking if…” Giorno bit his lips “”If you could come and pretend to be my uncle who lives with me.”
Fuck do I look that old?! If this call was made just right after the blonde joined the gang, Abbacchio would’ve hung up immediately and bitched about it to Bucchiarati later, but after all the life-and-death ordeals they’d been through and uponing knowing Giorno's family condition, the ex-police was tempted to help this kid. Little did any of Giorno’s friends know that both of Giorno’s so-called parents that Giorno had mentioned to them, had long ceased to exist thanks to a certain vampire, whom Giorno now shared a home with and nobody knew about it.
“Alright, when is this thing…”
The call was abruptly cut-off as one gigantic clawed hand crushed the telephone set in one grip.

In the teacher’s office, a young lady was sitting at her desk looking at the clock hung on the far wall from time to time, seemingly expecting one of her students to show up soon.
As the clock hit exactly at 2 o’clock, someone knocked on the door.
“Come in please.”
As soon as the door was opened, the teacher’s eyes went wide as saucers. Entering the room was a very tall and broad man wearing a long and heavy-looking black coat in the middle of the summer. From top to toe, the man was covered by a hat, a pair of sunglasses, a mask, a turtle-neck tight, a pair of black gloves and all other garments that one could possibly use to cover the skin. The bizarrely-dressed man was followed by her student, Giorno, who had an extremely mortified look that mouthed “kill me please”. The teacher was a bit puzzled as she saw her student quickly shutted the blinds behind her as the man sat down and started to remove all the accessories above his neck.
“Sorry Mrs. Pattison, my father has a severe skin condition that the doctor advised him to stay off the sun completely.” The blond teen explained as he switched on the light before swiftly sitting down next to his father.
Prior to today, Giorno had tried very hard to explain to his dad that the reason he did not tell him at the first place was that the meeting would only take place during school hours, i.e., when the sun was still up. However, the vampire INSISTED on attending the meeting and asked his son to buy a bunch of expensive sunscreen lotions.
So now here they were, a human teen sitting awkardly next to his vampire dad, meeting the teacher across the table.
“Thank you for coming today Mr. Brando. I heard that you are a very busy man.” the teacher smiled, blushing lightly at the handsome blond man. Now she knew why her student was good looking. The apple certainly did not fall far from the tree.
“No father should be absent from such an important meeting.''Dio put on a meaningful smile, amber eyes gradually transforming to a burgendy hue as his gaze focused on the woman’s exposed neck. Giorno’s face went all paper-pale as soon as he spotted where his father’s predatory gaze landed, which was another reason of WHY he never wanted his father to come at all - his teacher looked just like those typical ‘breads’ that his dad would eat, young and beautiful. Giorno suddenly recalled that last night, his dad seemingly did not feed at all. The vampire usually brought prey home and had his stomach filled around midnight, but for some reason, last night was not the case. Dio went out and came home empty-handed. The only possible explanation Giorno could think of was his dad was busy beating the Joestars to death.
Giorno nervously held Dio’s big, gloved hand underneath the table in the attempt to pull his dad off his vampire instinct. Sensing his son’s dismay, Dio gently caressed the much smaller hand in reassurance, eyes still on the teacher.
The teacher then got to the main point “I must say that I am getting concerned about your son’s behaviour lately. Last week he got into a serious fight and beat three students into hospital.”
“Ah that’s my boy..I mean that's totally unacceptable and I will definitely see through it.” Dio quickly changed his words as he felt a hard pinch on his thigh under the table.
“On top of that, he has missed many classes and his grades also drop significantly” an worried expression placed over the teacher’s face “He got ‘F’ for the last three tests”. Giorno swallowed hard as he saw his dad’s broad chest heaved in anger upon hearing his grade.
“Probably because my son was busy fighting the mafi…..was busy fighting with me.” Another hard pinch on the vampire’s thigh. Dio sighed before continuing “For personal reasons, I was absent during the time when my son needed me the most. Now that I have Giorno under my care, he will have my undivided attention, love and support. I will make sure he will never misconduct again.”
A surge of warmth blossomed in Giorno’s heart right after these words. Despite being a ruthless, manipulative and terrifying tyrant of the night who perceived every living human (except his son) as tools or loafs of bread, from all the time they’d been living together, Giorno knew his dad meant every word that he just said. He did feel that he was being loved.
“I’m glad to hear that Mr. Brando.” the teacher beamed ”I’d also like to mention that Giorno is very gifted in playing piano. His performance during the music class is astonishing.”
“I will keep that in mind.” Giorno thought he saw a look of content surfaced on his dad’s face for a second or two.
Luckily for the human teen, the rest of the conversation went smoothly and the sky turned very cloudy when the meeting was over so there were less hassles for the blonde duo on the way home.
As soon as they were back in the villa, the vampire broke the silence “Giorno, I will buy you a piano if you do well in your tests.”
“Really?” Giorno’s eyes lit up, how he had always dreamed of having his own piano.
“On the other hand, if you ever fail any tests again, I’m going to eat every single person from your class, including that teacher. Am I understood? ”
Giorno could only gulp and sweat-dropped.
“Yes, padre.”
The end
