Work Text:
Tokoyami Fumikage was used to people being terrified of themself and dark shadow, and had gone into U.A thinking that this school would be the same. People would cower away from themself and their ever present quirk, whom was not very friendly.
What they hadn't been expecting was Midoriya Izuku to come charging into their life, full of sunshine smiles and terrifyingly accurate analyses of their quirk. The boy was kind to a fault, but Fumikage could feel the darkness resting beneath the surface of the boys skin. There was something about the other boy that screamed danger, to keep away from him, but Fumikage was never one to back away from the darkness, and instead let it consume him.
The USJ incident still rested heavily on the avians mind, how Midoriya was able to take control of the situation in a moments notice, how he was able to make the villains back off with words alone. Something about Midoriya kept the scoundrels in line, he had single handedly saved the day, and had disappeared in a cloud of mist with the main villain 'Shigaraki' and hadn't returned for hours.
When he did he was all sunshine smiles once more, and acted as if nothing was out of sorts. His lineage came to light, and Fumikage couldn't help but be drawn to the boy whom looked into the darkest of the abyss and made the void his servant. After that Fumikage had stuck to the green haired boy, finding companionship in the other, and found themselves greatly enjoying the his presence.
Most of the time Midoriya was a gentle and kind boy, always ready to help and praise his classmates. Never had he done anything to harm anyone outside of battle training, nor did he use his multiple quirks irresponsibly. For someone who was the boogie mans son, he was the gentlest soul Fumikage and Dark shadow alike had ever had the pleasure of befriending.
That being said, the resident 'sunshine' teenager wasn't always smiles and kindness. As Fumikage had noticed, the boy held a deep darkness close to his chest, rarely unleashing the beast. When he did though, it was the most gorgeous monstrosity they'd ever laid eyes on.

The first time the class was reminded of Midoriya's parentage was during the sports festival. Everything had been going well, most of 1-A had made it to the one on one battles, and were now fighting to prove their worth, to show the world the next generation of heroes.
Fumikage had been keeping a close eye on Midoriya, watching the boy take down Shinsou with brutal ease, and watched as he fidgeted in his seat nervously for his upcoming battle with Todoroki. Fumi could understand why the boy was nervous, Todoroki was their most formidable classmate, he truly encompassed the icey side of his quirk and was cool and calculated when it came to the throws of battle.
The avian had done their best to comfort their friend, but unlike Midoriya, Fumi wasn't great with their words, nor comforting a friend in their time of hardships. Still they did their best, and by the time the boy was leaving the stands, he seemed less nervous and his eyes shined with determination.
To say the least the battle between Midoriya and Todoroki was a slaughter. Fumi couldn't hear what was being said from the stands, but Midoriya was passionate, dealing with Todoroki's devastating attacks with ferocious ease. They could only watch, fixated on their friend as the green haired boy destroyed the ice, as well as his fingers.
The aura Midoriya exuded was one of determination and bloodlust. He had a terrifying grin spread across his lips, one that sent shivers down Fumikage's spine and had their mind screaming for them to flee from this formidable predator that wouldn't hesitate to cause blood shed. The arena had lit up with Todoroki's fire, casting an ominously breathtaking view of Midoriya.
The boy was lit in the light of the fire, skin glowing and eyes shining as he let out a soundless laugh. Fumikage couldn't pay attention to anything else except this god like creature before them.
Midoriya had won the fight, having used all of his quirks to decimate his competition, and Fumikage could see the darkness that lurked behind the boys eyes.
As Todoroki was led off the field on a stretcher Midoriya had looked up and locked eyes with Fumikage, and they felt stuck to their seat, not daring to even breathe as they spotted the monstrosity that prowled beneath the boys skin. They were reminded of Midoriya's father, Fumikage wondered if his father had a look similar to his sons, one that inspired fear and made every primal instinct left in your body quiver in terror.
As soon as the bird headed teenager had seen the look, it was gone and replaced with a sunny smile and rosy cheeks.
Midoriya had gone on to win the entire festival but Fumikage was still stricken by the look in their friends eyes. Midoriya Izuku was someone who made the darkness in him a thrall to his will and whims, and was not someone Fumikage ever wished to face on the other side of the battle field.
Midoriya was a terrifying opponent, and Fumikage couldn't wait to see more of the beautiful void they had spotted.

The second time Midoriya's lineage came to the forefront of Fumikage's mind was during their internships shortly after the sports festival. Their friend had gone to work with a hero named Gran Torino, hoping to control his more powerful and bone shattering quirk.
Fumikage had taken an internship with hawks, knowing they wouldn't see their friend during internships Fumi had texted the green haired boy at any free chance they had, and was always met with enthusiastic replies.
One night hawks had decided to bring Fumikage to Hosu in hopes of expanding Fumikage's experience with different situations and villains. Of course Hawks couldn't have expected things to turn for the worst, when Nomu began attacking the city. The intern had been fighting viciously against their foes when they felt the vibrations in their back pocket, and spotted a text from Midoriya.
The boy had only sent his coordinates and it made Fumi's heart leap into his throat.
He'd informed hawks that something was wrong and gave the pro the coordinates before rushing through the burning city in search of their friend. What Fumikage found was a sight straight of nightmares, and would haunt their dreams for months to come.
Midoriya was going toe to toe with Stain, the hero killer as Iida and Native laid helplessly against the cold concrete. Blood pooled around the two figures, but Fumi didn't allow themselves to dwell on that, noticing they were both awake and breathing.
Instead they rushed into the heat of battle, doing their best to defend Midoriya, whom had a terrifying look in his eyes, grin far too sharp and preditorial.
The look, though not aimed at Fumikage made them stumble, mind screaming at them to take Native and Iida and run far far away from this petrifying young god in front of them. They didn't listen to those instincts, instead doing their best to support Midoriya as he fought savagely, in the end being able to bring down the hero killer.
After the seemingly never ending battle had ended, the terrifying look that had been on the smaller boys face had disappeared, changing into one of concern and worry as Midoriya mother henned both Iida and Native. The four had exited the alley way, being met with hawks and other pros, Stains body dropped unceremoniously by Midoriya who let out a low sigh.
He opened his mouth to speak when a screech pierced the air and a Nomu came barreling towards the group of people. Everyone ducked, trying to shield themselves from the beast, but Midoriya stood his ground and leveled the abomination with a glare.
"Absolutely not, I just had a shitty night. Go back to Tomu-Nii before I rip your eyes out." His voice was deadly, dangerous and it made a shiver run up Fumikage's spine, even Dark shadow cowered away from the powerful boy. The Nomu let out another screech, before disappearing into the night sky, leaving the group of Pro's and hero to be's gawking at Midoriya.
The boy seemed to realize he had an audience, cheeks flushing bright pink as he rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly.
"Sorry, I'm not in a good mood." Fumikage could only gape at the other boy, heart fluttering with admiration and want. Yes, Midoriya was a young god awakening from his slumber, and the heroes should be thankful that he was on their side.

The third time Midoriya had acted like his father was during a normal class day. 1-A was lounging in their seats between the break of their classes, groups of friends chatting amongst themselves. Fumikage sat with Midoriya, Iida, Uraraka, Todoroki, Tsu and Shinsou, their odd little group which had been dubbed the 'Dekusquad' by Uraraka.
They were unsure of how this conversation came to be, having been more focused on trying in vain to count the freckles that littered Midoriya's cheeks. Fumikage had gotten to 53, when they were pulled back into the conversation by Midoriya's comment.
"That is the stupidest way to hide a body Shouto. You wanna get caught and go to prison for murder? Because thats how you get caught and go to prison for murder." The classroom became strikingly silent at the boys comment, heads swiveling to look at the group of teenagers.
"This is a very unhero like conversation!" Iida cried out, hand chopping in a disapproving manor, which went unnoticed.
"Well, how would you hide a body Midoriya?" Shinsou piped up, a Cheshire like grin adorning his lips, knowing full well what chaos he had unleashed. Midoriya's eyes practically sparkled at the question, hands flapping in excitement.
"Okay, well if I'm only wanting to hide the body and not frame anyone, then what I would do it dismember them, and there's a few options with this. I could take them to one of the local pig farms on the outskirts of town and feed the pigs the body parts, and since pigs actually will eat the bones as well, the murder wouldn't be able to be traced! It would just be a missing persons report!"
Iida had gone silent, a look of defeat crossing his face as he let out a mournful sigh. Other students had been drawn into this conversation, namely Shouji, Kaminari and surprisingly enough Bakugou.
"And if I don't have the resources to go to a pig farm, then I'd pre meditate the murder, and when I have the chance, I'd go to an active construction sight, bury the body parts through out areas they've yet to put concrete over, and once they pour the concrete there will be no way, short of destroying the concrete of finding the body!"
Mina was muttering 'what the fuck' under her breath in the background, Fumikage paid no mind to her distress, far to enraptured of the being in front of them.
"But if I'm wanting to frame someone, then it would also be pre meditated. Over time I would collect hair from the individual, find out their shoe size and shoes they regularly wear, and when I murder the person, I would wear the same size and shoes they wear, littering the scene with pieces of hair. I'd set it up to be someone their close to, and then watch as they fall victim to my planning!" Midoriya wore a wide smile on his lips, cheeks flushed as he waved his hands around.
Bakugou slowly backed away from the conversation, a look of fear passing over his features. Mina, Uraraka, and Kaminari were all laughing their asses off, both horrified and amazed by the amount of planning Midoriya had done. Todoroki had been taking notes, nodding absentmindedly at the greenettes words, an odd look crossing his features.
All the while Fumikage was looking at Midoriya reverently, dark shadow cooing quietly as they rubbed against Midoriya's leg like a cat would do when craving attention. Fumikage finally spoke after the whole ordeal was over with, never paying attention to their classmates around them.
"You are a beautiful creature of darkness." They breathed out, watching Midoriya's entire face flush red and waved his hands around in a flustered whirlwind.
"Tokoyami you can't just say things like that!" The boy squeaked and Fumikage was sure this feeling swirling in their chest was love.
~+1~
The class of 1-A had become accustomed to the odd behavior of Midoriya Izuku. It was no longer an odd occurrence to have the boy mentioning illegal things he'd done with his Tomu-Nii and papa when he was younger, nor for him to start correcting people on how to correctly get away with things illegally.
It was just part of who the boy was, and 1-A had come to accept it, and never held it against the boy. Fumikage seemed to be the only one who was enamored with the darkness within Midoriya, though sometimes Todoroki or Shouji would become enamored if only for a few moments.
When the dorms had been implemented, the class saw more of his darker side, but more often then not Midoriya was sunshine incarnated. The boy almost always wore a bright smile and was always willing to help classmates on any endeavor they needed.
Though Fumikage adored the darkness within their comrade, they enjoyed the bright and sunny side of Midoriya more. They loved seeing him giggle at ridiculous jokes, or the way his eyes shined with happiness when he was with their group of friends.
Fumikage's favorite part of Midoriya though, was reserved only for themself and Dark shadow.
Shortly after the talk of hiding a body, Fumikage had asked Midoriya to accompany them on a date, of which they took Midoriya star seeing, laying across a blanket as they pointed out their favorite constellations and the meaning behind them. Fumikage could only fall deeper for the boy, whom was similar to a supernova.
Midoriya was like a supernova because he was the light that exploded in Fumikage's pitch black galaxy, both beautiful and dangerous. Fumikage loved the moments between himself and Midoriya, when in the darkness of the night they curled up within their bed, words hushed as if they were speaking secrets of the universe to one another.
Fingers brushing over exposed areas of skin, cheeks flushed and eyes sparkling as their actions of love warmed them.
Midoriya was a being of darkness, but he was also the sunshine that fueled Fumikage's day. Fumi couldn't care less about Midoriya's parentage, though they were thankful this young god come into the world and chose the darkest of beasts such as themself.
