Flower Witch

Summary:

When Peter Parker finds himself in trouble he has to ask for a little help from a witch, not a conventional one of course, a flower witch. His trust issues make things harder than they should be, either way he needs all the help he can get, but things get tricky and people get involve in a much bigger problem than what Peter had initially planned.

Notes:

Hi! This is my second official Spidey story, this one is a bit different. I originally planned to post this for Halloween but my brain was not able to create a good ending so I think with NWH coming up in two weeks this is a good time to post this :) enjoy it.

Just a quick disclaimer... there are mentions of blood and broken bones so beware.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Chapter 1: Tangled Web and Witchcraft

Chapter Text

“Are you sure this is okay? This place looks nothing like where a witch would live.” Ned was holding a lantern, his view was only meeting flowers of different colors, orange trees and apple trees, it smelled fresh and sweet. That was definitely not a witches’ home.

“Yes, it is, I’ve been here before.” Ned gave him a look as he pointed the light straight at Peter’s face, “Ouch,” Peter slapped the lantern down. “When I had that weird poison in my body, remember? The greenish things that were spreading across my back?”

“Oh right, you were supposed to die in like two days if I’m not wrong.”

A crunch was heard across the field, Peter put his fists up, but without his suit on he was not able to locate anything bad, not even his spider-sense was activated.

A cat ran across one tree to the house on their left. Ned let out a girly scream.

Peter chuckled, “All good?”

“Yeah, so far.”

Both boys kept on walking. Ned stepped on a bunch of well kept moonflowers, his brown eyes caught Peter’s, both looked at each other with guilty grimaces.

“So you said that you got here when you were dying. What happened?” Ned continued.

“Well, Doctor Strange brought me here because he didn’t want to put a spell on me, he said something about it being too aggressive-“

“But you have super strength and shit.”

“I know but, I was dying Ned it probably could’ve been too much…. anyways.” Peter sighed as clouds of mist came out of his lips, the house appeared to be bigger as they approached. “he brought me here and this witch… I actually don’t remember much but I had to drink this tea and some flower petals that tasted really bad.”

“I remember that part. May told me you were projectile vomiting for like a whole week. Sorry I didn’t come to visit.”

“Don’t worry, that tea also made me feel very sleepy so I can barely remember vomiting that much. My abs though, were sore for days.” A silly smirk on his face.

Pete rubbed his hands together trying to keep them warm. He checked the windows of the house and it looked like either there was no one home or they were all asleep. Both boys stopped right by the entrance of the house. Red door looking quite dangerous under the very dim moonlight, not a full moon yet but the cold of the night had the sky perfectly clear.

Ned glanced at Peter and the latter did the same, Ned sighed and held the knocker between his cold fingers, letting it clash on the wooden surface twice.
Less than a second later the lights of the first floor came to life, washing the outside in a light yellow glow. The door flew open, revealing a young lady in a knitted baby blue sweater and bee-like pants, she had full cheeks and bright eyes.

“Hi, come in.” She walked back inside, leaving the door open for the boys.

“Dude you didn’t say she was cute and most importantly, young!” Ned scream-whispered at Peter as both walked inside the house.

“Shhh… erm” Peter cleared his voice and fixed his posture to look well put together and not as out of place as he felt. “Miss, we’re looking for Y/n she’s supposed to live here”

“Yes, that’s me, I’ve been expecting you.” You sat on your green wooden table, it glistened under the living room’s glass lamp.

“Really?” Ned’s eyes shone with expectancy after his last words.

“No, not really I was just watching Netflix.” you shrugged, from the corner of your eye seeing how Peter elbowed his friend, putting his hands in the air as if asking him what the hell is wrong with you. You smirked. “So boys, what brought you here exactly?”

Crossing your arms you saw the curly haired boy fidgeting with the strings of his navy blue hoodie.

“I don’t know if you remember, but you helped me like six months ago, I had poison in my veins from a bioweapon-“

“Yes, I do remember you.”

“Okay cool, so you know I’m a superhero.”

“hmm… I suppose.”

Peter knitted his eyebrows together, “anyways… I need you to help me track… something.”

“But, there’s GPS now and stuff… why would you want me to do that?”

“That is actually a great story,” Ned intervened.

“Good, I have all night. Do you guys want some tea? I have juice too but only apple.”

Ned smiled at you warmly and nodded, as he sat down on the green and unconventional dining room chairs, they had dog patterns on the cushion, weird but cute. “Apple juice is fine, thank you.”

“Ned! We’re supposed to be doing business here, not playing house.” Peter nudged his friend again, he was irritated, you could tell.

So as you stood up, Peter’s eyes traveled to your face, “we can still do business while drinking tea Peter Parker. Just sit,”

As a very obedient cute puppy, Peter sat down. You walked to your kitchen, your coven was out for a mission somewhere in Alaska and you were left behind just because you got caught doing side jobs with the superheroes. The coven was not approving your alliance with them, but what could you say; Wanda was great and Strange was funny, Tony had the money and you the power to help so you couldn’t really find a downside to the whole situation, so they -your coven- usually didn’t take you in mind to do other type of businesses, such as tarot reading, cast all kind of spells and various types of rituals.

This time you knew it had to do something about hexes and the autumn solstice. Nothing out of the normal so you took the days as vacation.

The juice got poured, the leaves were waiting for their boiling water. Meanwhile you put on a plate some orange cookies you baked that morning, making your way back to the boys who were inspecting and whispering things to each other, you repressed a laugh.

“Here,” your fingers grasped the colorful cups, handing them one each. “So a tracking spell… for what?”

Ned swallowed half a cookie in one go, his eyes going wild with the sweet orange flavor exploding in his mouth. Peter choked on his juice thanks to the sweet but very natural taste of the liquid. It made you feel funny inside, no one really appreciated your baking and drinks.

“That’s incredibly tasty.” Peter smiled, for the first time he let his guard down. “So as my friend said, It’s kind of a funny story.”

And there it went. Peter Parker was a cute boy, very cute indeed with his luscious locks, chocolate eyes and the tiny but perceptible freckles, oh and he was smart, like super genius smart, that was really impressive. You admired him for it but just as intelligent as he was he also was very stupid and careless.

The first time you saw him he was being carried by Strange in a weird levitating spell you found unnecessary yet there he was, the very sick Peter Parker, your coven didn’t let them go inside the house so the greenhouse became like your little extra official office. Strange told you everything he knew about the bioweapon Peter was having a life or death situation. Some kind of mist was making his skin turn green, but not the type of green you see in trees and beautiful gardens. No, this one was poisonous; it had that really deadly look to it almost radioactive. So you worked fast, as fast as you could, injecting him a concoction of dill, edelweiss, and oak cortex to help him retrieve the disease and pain as much as possible in one dose.

Peter contorted as if you were exorcising him, little clouds of green steam came off his skin, and as his body moved in very weird angles, you saw color coming back to his face, a couple of seconds later he stabilized and you swore you saw a tiny relieved grin tugging at his lips. You knew Strange was more than capable of cleaning that shit out of the boy’s body but you also understood that he didn’t want Peter to suffer, and if Strange did it, there probably would be blood and screams. He knew you were able to do it less aggressively and naturally.

But as said before this was a life or death situation. The story Peter was telling you now was just him being dumb. Who tries to steal a sample of this bioweapon in the middle of the day, and leaves a clue of his true identity in the same spot? Yes, only Peter Parker.

During Peter’s adventurous adventure you poured tea in orange cups, leaves floating on the surface. “Just drink it, I wanna read your fortune, let’s see how much luck you have and I’ll decide if I want to help you or not.”

So Norman Osborn had this briefcase at his office, Peter knew he was involved somehow in the making of said deadly weapon, so he wanted to see what else could he get from the briefcase besides the sample. As he tried to get in the building he had to wear his ID badge with the OSCORP logo in it.

“And I was there, I got inside his office, the place had this code that E.D.I.T.H deciphered quite easily,” he was gesturing with his hands, he did that a lot you noted.

“Wait, who is E.D.I.T.H?”

“Oh it’s Tony’s AI, it’s super cool you should see it in action. Mind-blowing.” Ned stated.

“Ok, so how did you forget your ID in the briefcase, I can’t even imagine how it happened.”

Peter sipped at his drink, eyebrows darting up, “wow what is this, lemon?”

“Lemongrass and black tea with a teaspoon of honey… continue please.”

“Right, so I got in and there were not one but probably fifteen metal cases, all lined up on a table, and I just started checking what was inside each of them. Crazy color liquids were put in vials, deadly red and a very bright blue, even brighter than the gatorade one. So when I found the green one I just thought of putting the case in the vents and go back at night to gather it along with some documents I saw on his desk.” he deflated on his chair. “It all seemed too easy so an alarm went off the second I touched his desk, I panicked-“

“Naturally.” Ned pointed as he sipped his tea in a rather funny way. “I do feel like we’re in a Sherlock Holmes movie making conspiracy theories and all.”

“It’s the cups, right? They’re nice, also the tea.” you confirmed, and Ned nodded agreeing with that. He handed you his cup with little tea dirt at the bottom and a few leaves of the lemongrass plastered on the walls of the ceramic. “Continue Peter, I’m listening to this endearing story.”

“You two are being weird, but as I was saying I panicked,” his chocolate eyes gave his friend a warning look, “and closed all the cases down so quick I barely had time to shoot webs out the window and disappear. When I was on top of the building I noticed my ID was gone, and before you ask yes I went back and checked the office twice but it was not there.”

Peter drank the last few drops of warm tea and slid the mug across the glass until it stopped right by your fingertips. “So we’re talking about tracking your ID?”

“Uh yeah, pretty much and if you do that I can also get a sample of whatever weird and super scary shit they’re doing with the bioweapons.”

You sighed watching Ned’s mug, noticing how his curiosity was exuding from his pores as he was hovering over the table. Peter was munching a cookie. Your eyes fell on the bubbly boy, Ned waited a few seconds for your verdict.

“Is it bad?” His mug showed nothing interesting really, just a bunch of good luck.

“The contrary, you’re quite lucky, to be honest. I see good news from the university and a girl, actually an ex-girlfriend coming back. I don’t know but apparently you are on the right path to having a successful life Ned.”

“Oh, that’s cool.” You noticed how his face dropped, he turned to look at Peter “do you think Betty is coming back?”

“I don’t know man, but she could.” Peter shrugged and Ned huffed, not very happy with his destiny, “now do mine so we can pass to the important part… Please.” He crossed his arms.

You noticed his biceps tightening on the fabric of his hoodie, you diverted your sight from them.

It took you by surprise all the things you were able to foresee, glimpses of pain and also sacrifice oh and a new job, that was random. A girlfriend in the near future, struggles in the hero-life but they all eventually will turn into something good.

“Your life is a mess Parker, I can assure you that, but the end of the line looks alright to me. You are going to have a few challenges but it’ll end up being worth it. Also, I see a new job and a relationship. So, good for you boy.”

Ned slapped Peter’s shoulder hearing the last few things.

“How much in the future can you see though?” Peter was not believing you much, which you understood, he was not one to trust in good luck and fortune-telling things.

“Short term, a few months. But remember that your decisions can change the result of the reading of the tea leaves. I bet it won’t be the same tomorrow.” the china rattled as you left the cup on the table.

“Well as long as I get your help I don’t really mind what the future holds.”

“Suit yourself.” you got up and went out to the back of the house, noticing neither of your clients followed, you pivoted in spot, “you coming or what?”

You walked to the greenhouse, the air was so humid the boys coughed a couple of times to adjust to the choking sensation. You inhaled deeply, the smell of fresh and damp plants made you relax instantly. Approaching your little desk you put a porcelain mortar and a few jars and vials with colorful contents on display.

Peter was not entirely sure if this was a good idea but it was the only one he had that didn’t involve telling any of the avengers about his idiocy. Perhaps Y/n wasn’t the most trustworthy witch but he had a feeling she was not one to back out from a good adventure, just by looking at how prepared she was with her utensils, all set, and he basically owed her a chance, it was the least he could do after she saved his ass.Still there was something about her that he didn’t allow himself to enjoy.

“Is this like where you do spells and all that stuff?” Ned was poking a mimosa pudica. It was a plant that retracted when you touched it, they did so to protect themselves. it was proof of the world being magical by itself , “I feel like Harry Potter doing this, look Peter.”

The brunette boy’s eyes grew big, he had never seen a plant like that before, “shit, this is cool, let me try.” There they were, two twenty something year olds playing like they were kids.

“Hey! So do you have something from OSCORP that can help me track the cases?”

Peter stepped aside from the plant, he gulped, “no, was that a requirement to come see you?” you rolled your eyes.

“No it isn’t but it could’ve been easier if you just knew about it.” you sighed, walking to the other side of your desk, taking a book out of the drawer, a thick navy blue book with gold letters in a language Peter couldn’t understand, then you slapped the book close. Making Ned jump. “So we need to go to OSCORP then,”

Peter came closer to you, “are you crazy? They have security and it- it could be dangerous.”

“Yeah whatever, it’s your choice Peter Parker, I’m not the one at risk.”

This took Peter only a second to make up his mind. “Ok lets go, we don’t have much time until they get that ID.”

“Ok I’ll grab a few things and I’ll be ready. The bathroom is inside, next to the living room the door is light blue.”

With that, Peter and Ned made their way back to the house, Ned shook his head, “Dude she does know what she’s doing I think she is more powerful than we think,” Peter waited outside the bathroom as Ned kept on talking “but seriously a girlfriend in your near future sounds like you’re finally gonna date Gwen Stacy.”

“We need to get my ID first, if we don’t then there won’t be anyone to date.” Peter huffed. He understood this was not any mission and bioweapons were no joke. He messed up bad, yet he was ready to fix his stupid mistake and finally do something about this thing OSCORP was creating. His spider-senses tingled just by thinking about the awful shit they could be doing with the serums and to other humans.

After their quick bathroom break, Peter was checking how much web he had left, he put K.A.R.E.N back in charge, knowing E.D.I.T.H could call Tony Stark at any moment and he was not going to take that risk.

Meanwhile you had changed your striped pants into some jeans adding some boots, a little bag hung across your chest, you were all ready, with various flower dusts resting inside, copper dust to cast spells and hexes as well as your little mortar and a tiny bottle of moon water.

The boys met you in the backyard. Clock marked nine past ten at night, perfect time for witchcraft. Nights were always more powerful if you worked with moon energy.

“So what, are we flying on brooms?” Peter asked, mocking you as you made your way out of the coven’s property.

“Don’t be silly, we don’t fit on my broom, we’re going to have to take the metro.” you fixed your bright lemon coat on as the two boys watched you oddly, “let’s go! We don’t have much time.”

***

The metro was practically empty, just because your house was outside the city and no one cared much about going downtown at that time. Peter was sitting opposite you, Ned was distracted with his phone beside his friend and you only observed your surroundings avoiding Parker’s gaze, he had quite the heavy look, you felt like he was judging you, not that it was a new sensation to you but this was different because it put you in a place where he didn’t fully trust you or your ability, still he showed up at your place looking for help, which was a little confusing, because believe it or not when you don’t entirely trust in witches’ powers there is a slight chance that something may go wrong.

“So what type of witch are you?”

You had to look at Peter now, his arms were crossed, again a sign of rejection, he was not going to let you in so easily. Even when he was approachable at first this was a side of him you didn’t exactly like.

“It’s basically green witchcraft. I use materials that the earth gives us, hence their energy and just because almost everything comes from natural sources I can use various elements to cast spells, but my specialty are flower and plant spells and hexes.”

“Oh, so your coven is all green?” you saw curiosity shine in his pupils.

“Well, yeah, but we all have our own thing. I use plants and flowers, others use the elements, water, air, earth, fire. Then we have the ones that use the phases of the moon to cast bigger spells, or the sun, it depends really on what your gift is.”

“Wow, sounds… interesting.” Peter checked you out, he was being serious, instantly your hands felt sweaty, you didn’t let your nervousness show it was just a boy and boys were not a treat, not to you at least. “So black cats and bad luck, is that also a witchy thing?”

That made you giggle, “nah, come on that’s just assumptions people make, we do have a cat but we also have rabbits and butterflies, the bad luck, that, we can cast a hex or jinx for it, but it won’t work on a black cat by itself it has to have something behind.”

“What about time traveling?” Ned came into the conversation, “or love spells.” Peter gave his friend a look, brows drew together “what? I want to know if there are limits too.”

“Of course we have our limits, love is definitely out of our power will. Can we help discover if someone has feelings for the other? Yes. Can we make someone fall in love with another person? Nope, unless they have feelings for the other, but still that’s tricky because we are basically not making them fall in love, we just help verbalize it, if that makes sense.” Ned nodded, “and time traveling is a big no, we simply can’t. Or at least is not something we focus on with green magic.”

“So how does Strange do it?” Ned wondered. Peter’s brown eyes squinted, still on you.

“He is a sorcerer and he has some other type of magic, right Peter? Something that has to do with portals and not natural resources like this one.” you handed him a little parchment, turmeric powder made it look yellow, he grabbed it unsure, you swallowed hard after the intense glance he threw at you.

“Yes, I guess that is it.”

After that Peter Parker stayed silent the rest of the ride, the parchment hidden in his jeans. Ned asked you about some cliche facts he had seen in movies which most were true but as it happened in the modern era, things were done differently but the base of it was the same. Peter checked his phone a few times and heard glimpses of your conversation.

There was something about you that he wasn’t able to get hold of, maybe it was that he didn’t really believe in magic as it is, there was Strange and Wanda but they had other types of powers, that was probably it. That they had powers and you, you used energy from earth and living things to do what you wanted.

The three of you walked in the dark streets of Manhattan, they were still very noisy, it reminded you why you liked to live in the suburbs. Ned talked about his favorite sushi place and how you should go watch the Back to The Future films with them next weekend. They were having a screening of the trilogy in an old cinema a couple blocks away.

“I’d like that, if it’s okay with you two.”

“Sure thing.” Ned smiled at you. But Peter was silent, he kicked a can of coca-cola out of the way and scoffed “don’t mind him, he is stressed about this, he will like you to come.”

You sighed, there was definitely not a chance he liked you, but it was fine you had survived just fine without friends until now.

There, it shone the big OSCORP building in white lights. Peter hid in an alley as his suit expanded from his wrists. You had never seen a superhero transform before, not even Tony and that one time you saw Wanda she just disappeared in a glow of red mist.

“I’m going to go ahead and scan the area, take these.” he handed you both a little intercom that fit nicely in your ear. “I’ll let you know what to do.”

And without letting you talk he swung away. Your heart hammered in your chest, that was… hot.

The plan was basically to wait for Peter’s sign to go on top of the building that was just beside the corporation. As you waited you checked your materials. Holding a deep purple almost black dust you decided to give the little bag to Ned.

“Take this,” Ned held it between his fingers, “listen to me Ned, that is belladonna. It’s a very poisonous flower. If we get caught or something happens, you just throw it at someone’s face, they’ll pass out in seconds. I already put a hex on it so it can lend us more time.”

Ned’s eyes widened, “Wow, okay, I’ll carry it carefully.” he put it in the back pocket of his jeans.

As you waited. the streets got quieter, until with a muttered sound, Peter landed just a few feet away from you.

“It’s clear, let’s do it.” a tiny spider came out of his suit, flying from your spot to the top of the OSCORP building. “Okay now let me do something.” Peter shot webs so quickly it took you a second to see what he was trying to do. Within a couple of minutes a little path of almost invisible spiderweb linked the two places. “I’ll go first so you see this is safe.” and he walked as if it was the most normal thing to do in the whole world “See, very easy.”

Spider-Man stood right in the middle of the two buildings; it looked as if he was floating in thin air, both of his arms on his hips, waiting for Ned to go first. The flying spider went back to Pete’s suit after its patrol. And as your turn came your legs felt like jelly walking on something -you were almost sure- physics were not able to explain.

The web was a little wobbly but as you reached OSCORP territory, Peter met you with his arm extended your way to help you. You took it and it felt warm, giving you some sense of security you usually didn’t feel when working.

After a second of putting your shit together and taking in the view you heard Ned excitedly tell Spider-Man how cool that was and that he for a second thought he was flying.

Not wasting more time you started to pull out your mortar along with some colorful flower powders. Both boys looked at you with curiosity as you poured a few yellow rue dust for clear vision, shamrock for good luck and winged seeds for the message to be delivered correctly. You mixed it with a few drops of moon water, but you were feeling a little on edge, you tried to shake the sensation off as you turned to Peter.

“I need something of yours. Hair or blood whichever you prefer.” His mask retracted in a second and Ned quickly ripped a hair out of Peter’s scalp.

“Ouch”

“Sorry.”

“Thank you” you took it and dropped it on the mix. OSCORP had a very heavy and not positive energy, which was good, good in the sense that it would make the tracking easier. “iter ei energy, ostende mihi locum.” You whispered a few times as the paste started to bubble in the mortar. The moon was only waxing crescent, not too powerful yet powerful enough for the job.

You heard them gasp as you closed your eyes, putting your hands on top of the concoction. Smoke started to rise in a grey hue. It stayed at head level, for a second neither Peter nor Ned were able to see as you stayed kneeled down. Was until after a gunshot crossed the skies when the smoke disappeared with the breeze, your spell breaking.

Ned was putting you up, holding you by the hand, as Peter was already shooting webs to the guards that were making their way to you. You were in awe seeing Spider-Man in action, it was as if he could dance and maneuver all types of things at once.

The shooting, webs flying and sizzling as they crossed the air, kicks connecting with jaws and ribs. It was as if you were in a trance, watching everything go slower, hearing everything in muffled mode, till you felt a tug in your arm, Ned was trying to catch your attention.

“Come on!” your flight of fight reflex was not alert but Ned’s were fully on. He pushed you down to the side as one dude threw something at you.

“FUCKING FUCK” you yelled watching a brick a couple of feet way from your head. Ned was already up again, dragging you.

Spider-Man was dealing with five men at a time as the other two were trying to get a hold on a very scary Ned and a very shocked you.

“TO THE WEB PATH! GO, NOW!” Peter didn’t have to repeat himself through the intercom, he received a punch that unbalanced him. He did something to his suit and ricochet webs hit a couple of men in the head and groin.

Now you had to run, so Ned pushed you in front of him, and without even saying a word, just a look in the eye between you two was enough for him to take the dark purple plastic bag out, throwing it at his back without paying attention where it could land. A cloud of smoke exploded and you heard a man cough, then a low thud.

“That was very helpful.” Ned panted and giggled as you ran and wobbled around on the web bridge. Even if the thing got made less than an hour ago, the structure of it was less stable and it didn’t take you too much to notice how the weight of it shifted. Looking back you saw a man following you, running down the same unstable web bridge you two were still on.

“Ned, move. Keep going to the other building and hide… I’ll take this dude down.” You sounded way more brave and heroic than how you actually felt.

“But, I can’t leave you here.” he held your arm, trying to bring you along, “come on, we can-“

The web structure collapsed a few feet. You held the thin stings by your sides as you and Ned yelped scared.

“Ned just go, I’ll be fine, remember I’m a witch.”

He was not very confident in what you were doing, yet he trusted you better than Peter did so he crawled to the safety of the building.

A vial of orange butterfly weed dust called you to use it while you tried to remember a spell, the thing was that spells took more than two minutes to cast so it was not an easy task to do while the man approached you, his very scary wide eyes and murderous smile only made you feel cold.

Your heart was hammering harder than ever in your chest, it seemed as if heart failure was happening soon. Meanwhile that occurred you poured the orange dust on the webs now making them visible. You heard Ned call your name, while back at the OSCORP building you caught sight of Peter beating the shit out of the last man standing. The dude following you was barely holding his grip in the thin webs-like-railings.

“Your damn webs very be flammable Parker” you said under your breath.

Your hands hovered above the orange strings as you pronounced the latin spell liberum ignis. A big blaze in a very unlike color expanded right where the powder covered the webs, the flame was blue and the man on the other side took a few steps back as you ran the few meters you had left, but the fire- even when it looked odd it was real, the webs were melting slower than you expected, the man noticed sprinting your way.

You had nothing to defend yourself with, Ned was trying his best to gather a rock or an old item he could use, he hadn’t found anything so he waited, hoped and watched. It was all a blur of blue and black, the man pulled you by the hair as you fell onto your back which didn’t hurt, the webs soft behind you, yet his other hand punched your face making your eyes water in milliseconds, you winced feeling the warmth of blood dripping from the side of your nostril. As a consequence you choked on the taste of iron that traveled through your throat, you were not able to see what was happening, a sharp pain traveled through your forehead down your nose and the side of your cheeks as you puckered your nose. You kind of expected another punch; which was the logical move to follow but it didn’t come. What was heard was the whistle of air around you, red and blue mixing with your tears as you tried to stand up, but the web finally gave in and in a second you were falling more than twenty floors down.

Your gut was in your throat, knowing the end was finally meeting you, your face was in pain and you were free falling, screaming while you did. Until you weren’t. Of course Peter was not going to let you die. His one arm was around your waist he left you momentarily out of breath by the force of the caught. As rapidly as you thought things were ending you were safely put down. Ned was rushing down a flight of stairs. You started really crying by the time your knees gave up.

Peter was watching you on the alley he put you down, his suit retracted as he checked that no enemy was standing near, to be honest he felt relief seeing you alive, his heart skipped a beat involuntarily when he saw the man punch you down, and then when he saw you falling, something shifted, he felt bad. Yet his antagonistic side popped up, he felt frustration and a wave or rage bubbled in his chest. Watching Ned trying to calm you down as blood still poured down your nose all the way to your chin did nothing to him, as if whatever trace of empathy had just disappeared.

“Y/n, you are okay, come on, stop crying.” Peter said peeved.

You sobbed, now holding your nose, whipping the crimson liquid with the back of your hand. He scrunched his nose at the look of the punch, it was probably broken, it had swollen very fast and the purple dots around your eyes were no good sign.

Ned kept you close, he watched Peter with worry, he had never seen him act so irritated with someone before.

“That was a very stupid move Y/N, what the fuck were you thinking.”

“Excuse me? I was trying to protect us.”

“Yeah dude, what the hell.” Ned was between you and Peter, your face was hurting like a mother fucker, you had no energy to be fighting with Parker.

“Whatever, it doesn’t even matter anymore, now we have no clue where the ID nor the cases could be.”

Your eyes were still very watery, but you could perfectly see Peter’s figure holding his head with both hands, expelling frustration all over the place. What was his problem with you, you didn’t understand. You noticed the bubbly boy by your side, giving you soothing pats on your shoulder, they were doing nothing but it was nice to have someone on your side.

Peter turned on his heels, intense gaze on your swollen face, you saw his feature contract “your nose is broken, I need to fix it before it’s too late.”

You looked at him with expectant eyes not understanding his mood swings. Ned knew what was going to happen next; Peter took a step closer, giving his best friend a small nod. Ned held you still, Peter’s hands on the sides of your face and in a very quick move he put your nose in place again with a little crack, it made your eyes water again and you sobbed as more blood came down.

“That hurt a lot.” You moaned. The lime coat was all dirty and your mouth tasted like metal, it was disgusting.

“It looks very painful.” Ned stated

Peter was still holding your face, as he examined his work, pretty good, the swelling would decrease with the days. He sighed, clenching his jaw, still very annoyed by the whole situation.

“Let’s go home, we need to see what we are going to do next.”

***

The good thing about New York was that no one really cared about how you looked, especially at night when people were too drunk to walk straight or too tired to give you a second glance.

Peter and Ned’s apartment was small but cute, very geeky to your liking. It needed more plants and probably better furniture but it was cosy and the energy that flowed around was calming, in contrast to Peter’s current one.

Ned showed you the bathroom, “We’ll give you something else to wear, just clean yourself.” With a warm smile he left you alone with your bloody nose and clothes.

You wished you had chamomile to help you reduce the inflammation and pain, also yarrow to help with the bruises, peace lily would be the perfect plant to be around at that very moment, you needed some cleanse of the bad vibes the spider boy was radiating. Instead you had only water and painkillers. After washing the stains of blood off your face you pulled the door open, Peter was resting on the wall opposite to the bathroom.

The hall was not very wide so you were only two steps away from touching.

“Everything okay?” he asked but you only shrugged, “take these, so you at least feel a little more comfortable.”

Yeah you looked at your shirt and raincoat, all covered in your own blood, it was creepy to look at, as if you had murdered someone. Without arguing you changed in the bathroom, Peter’s sweater was so soft and warm you felt like melting in it, the forest green was your color and you couldn’t help to wonder how good would Peter look in it.

Shaking the thought away you met the two boys in the living room, they had cans of coke and fizzy water ready for you, as well as nuggets and pizza that Ned just defrosted.

Both watched you plop on the couch beside Peter. He was ogling you, with a straight face. Your cheeks felt hot and head dizzy but the latter was because of the blood loss, so you drank the coke and munched on the pizza taking off the pepperoni. It was no vegan pizza but it was edible.

“So what now.” Ned asked, fully lying down on the loveseat in front of you. He and Peter changed too, they were in more comfortable clothing, sweats and cotton t-shirts. Nice.

“Now we get your ID” you poked the curly haired boy’s arm, “and that deadly liquid you seem to want so much.”

“What?” the boy looked at you as he had done it the whole night; weird as if you were crazy “the spell broke when we got ambushed, didn’t you see?”

Rolling your eyes was a big mistake, feeling the pain travel from your face to your head, you held it with both your hands to ease it, “can you give me back the parchment I gave you, Parker?”

Peter stood up and within a minute he had the orange ripped piece in your palm.

“Let me show you something.”

You simply walked to the kitchen, and started to boil water as if you’ve been in the apartment before. Ned and Peter were babbling about their unfinished homework and something about engineering you didn’t understand, that until the water was hot enough.

“If everything turns out as expected we’ll have an address.” You let the little orange paper get washed by the steam of the piping hot water, the same steam turned a bright yellow.

The oxygen came fully in contact with the parchment, very subtly numbers started to appear.

“Shit, that looks exactly like your handwriting Peter” Ned whispered, looking at the address. He was shocked, “that was dead amazing, I love magic.”

“Thank you.” You smiled, it hurt but it was rewarding.

“How?” Peter was in awe as well as agape by the magic demonstration.

“It was an easy connection spell I did back at the greenhouse, you had the paper long enough, and at the end of the day it’s your ID that we’re looking for, that’s why we added the hair in the mix with the flowers and the moon water it only made the bond stronger. So when the spell got casted we had the coordinates put there as a safe second option.”

“Very clever.” Peter nodded looking at the numbers. “So I’m going to go now. You guys stay here.”

You were the first to complain, taking the paper from Peter’s grip. “You can’t go anywhere if I don’t give you this, right? and just for the record I deserve to go because I got you the coordinates.”

Peter scoffed, “your job was exactly just that, tracking the cases, the rest is none of your business, so give it back y/n you can go home now, rest and heal that ugly bruise on your face, we both know you very much need it. I’ll pay you tomorrow.” His reflexes were very fast so when you least noticed your hand was webbed to the wall, he snapped the paper from your fingers, “thank you.” He said fixing his new pair of web shooters.

“Peter, that’s not what we agreed,” you groaned trying to detach your hand from the sticky material. “As easy as I got you the coordinates I can also get them deleted. So think twice before your next move.”

Ned watched the whole thing happen sitting on the kitchen’s stool, still sipping his coke. He was rather entertained. He saw a red flag when Peter walked to stand right in front of you, Ned knew how the situation had turned turbulent, it was Peter’s identity that was at play, but you had your right to stay around until the whole situation got resolved.

You gulped seeing Peter’s nose flare, you felt his energy shift. Ned stood up and held his friend’s arm, pulling him away.

“Hey, Peter chill.” But of course he shoved Ned’s arm off. And threw a punch to the granite island that separated the kitchen from the living room. You saw the table crack, feeling a wave of panic wash over you.

“I swear if you get in my way, if you put yourself in danger I won’t be coming to the rescue, you can come but you’re on your own. My whole life it’s at risk at this moment, I don’t need to worry about you.”

Ned cocked his eyebrows, he was more than surprised by his friend’s reaction, the only other person he had treated like that before had been Flash, and not even with him he had been this harsh.

“Dude…” he mumbled, but Peter threw him a sharp glance, Ned swallowed his opinion and quickly helped you dissolve the web with a special liquid they had around.

Apparently, as Ned told you the web thing was a common occurrence around the place, Peter often used the walls to test his new additions.

It was like 10 minutes later that you were in a taxi on your way to Hell’s Kitchen. You told Peter what the exact address was once you were secured in a cab. He was dead silent as Ned hummed along some rap tune on the radio while you checked your bag.

You had nothing much to work with, you left your mortar at OSCORP’s and the moon water bottle was half empty. Yet you still had the copper and the gold, a few other flower dusts that could do a trick or two if anything happened and an extra package of belladonna.

A pretty lilac tone caught your attention. Verbena was one of the flowers for protection, even if you hoped that no harm was ahead of your mission, you rather be sure so you sprinkled some lilac powder on your palm, repeating praesidium a couple of times as you let it fall all over your hair and clothes.

The next doses went to Ned, you repeated the word and dusted him on the head, the shoulders and blew the rest on his back. Peter was sitting on the copilot’s spot, so you poured the last of your protection dust on your palms, tapped his shoulder and as he turned around you blew the lilac power over his face, he sneezed. You watched his lashed painted lilac, as he blinked the powder away, it fell over his clothes and hands. Your job was done, even when he gave you a dirty look you felt confident in the spell. It was the least you could do, now it was his trust on it that could activate the charm or not.

You heard Ned chuckle by your side, Peter only shook his head, fixing himself on the seat.

“So what are these for?” Ned mumbled.

“Oh, for protection, I don’t want anything bad happening to us.” Ned nodded and a wry smile tugged at his lips. “What is it?”

“Nothing, it’s just nice that you worry about us…”

To be honest you weren’t sure why Ned said that but to you it was pretty obvious, you cared for the boys, especially Ned, he, now that you thought about it, was your friend, the only one you had ever had, outside the coven. A fluttery sensation gave birth in your stomach. Friendship was nice.

The cab left by pier 88 just half a block away from your destination. Peter suited up in a second, you and Ned tried to look as less suspicious as you could but in the end it didn’t matter because New York had more important things to worry about than two teenagers walking down West 49th street in the middle of the night. The street was deserted. You smiled watching the big FedEx sign on the building, it was quite baffling to see OSCORP people hide their illegal shit in a place like this, but the real question was where would they ship the bioweapons to.

The intercoms alerted you with white noise on. You forgot you had them on.

“Do you see anything down there?” Peter asked as he was on the rooftop.

“Nothing here, there are just cameras at the main door and the truck entrance ” Ned pointed to the four cameras covering the spots.

“I’ll deactivate them and you two can open the gate, there’s a guard… wait, three guards, but no one is near the truck gate. I go in first, then you find the control room.”

“Ok.” You simply said and the plan unfolded.

Looking up, the sky was tinted in a deep navy blue, splashes of colored clouds were here and there due the city lighting, it was weird, you couldn’t see the stars. Ned steered you out of your daydreaming.

“Go.” With Peter’s sign, Ned used his phone and a device you didn’t see before, to unlock the gate. It took less than two minutes to click it open. Sliding it only enough so Spider-Man could sneak his way in. You waited. From the outside you heard a few grunts and moans of pain until Spider Boy popped his head out the gate, “It’s safe.”

Crawling in, Peter managed to turn the light on and you three stood there with wide eyes. You had everything you wanted by the reach of your hands, everything you could imagine was probably inside the thousands of boxes there, quite powerful. Yet you had a mission, Peter located the control room, you went there as fast as you could.

Ned took the job of the guy on the chair again and he was doing it brilliantly. He hacked accounts and easily enough he had the right status of the delivery. Hong Kong, by an anonymous person to an unknown company.

“Illegal shit as we expected.” Peter suddenly appeared by your side startling you, he gave you a quick look. “So where are the cases?” Ned clicked a few times and a bunch of files displayed on the screen.

“Right at the back, two storage containers filled in with bioweapons. What the hell, that’s so twisted.” Ned said.

Seeing the number of briefcases and fridges holding in vials of deadly weapons made you sick, there were more than four thousand. “We need to do something.” you stated, there was no way you could sleep at night knowing those things were somewhere causing death.

“I- I agree.” Spidey cleared his throat not believing he actually agreed with you. “but first I need my ID.”

Peter swung around the store, and very skillfully opened the two storage containers. The rest was a piece of cake for K.A.R.E.N to recognize his fingerprints in the cases he opened, which were quite a few.

“You need to stop touching things unnecessarily.” K.A.R.E.N pointed out.

“Yeah, noted.”

Eventually, after a few tries he was finally holding his ID between his fingers, no force in the world could make him let go of it. So safely he placed his ID inside the suit, a sigh of relief crashed over him, he kind of felt tired at that point but there were a couple of things left to do.

ID. Check - Peter marked in his mental notes.
Sample of the bioweapon- A big red NO.

His spider fingers took the vial with extra care, not wanting to get another life or death experience. Just as he put the vial inside a bag that was inside another box that was inside his backpack.

Like cold air on his neck, his spidey-sense was fully alert.

“K.A.R.E.N, what is it?”

“A guard woke up, he activated the alarms.” as the AI said a red light flashed across the store.

“NED, Y/N get out of here.”

“Ned? Come on, let’s go.” you took him by the arm but he didn’t move a muscle.

“I need to gather this intel, you go ahead. I’ll see you both outside.” he gave you a reassuring smile.

“I’m not leaving you here, come on, Ned.” your chest felt like it could explode, you were not leaving your new friend  “Please.”

“I promise you I’ll be fine, I got you and Peter to give me some time to do this. Okay?” he continued clicking and downloading files and more files, “go, I trust your spell completely, I’ll see you out there.”

“Guys, what’s going on, why are you not down here yet?” Peter spoke on the intercom.

“We’re going.” you said quickly, giving Ned a nod. Now you had to protect him, no one was getting to him without kicking your ass first.

You ran until you saw Spidey at your back, jumping and swinging around the warehouse. Adrenaline was pumping so fast, you felt pins and needles covering the skin of your neck and arms. The few magic spells you had prepared slipped from your mind as a guy appeared in front of you, shocked was what you were when the gun in his hand pointed your way.

A blink and a ,duck down-shout knocked you out from your state. Spider-Man shot a web that expanded across the man’s body. He was now hanging off the ceiling, trying his best to get rid of the synthetic material .

“y/n, move. What the fuck.” Peter shouted through the intercom.

“Sorry. I panicked for a second.”

“No shit,” he swung away.

From the corner of your eye you saw Ned crossing the gates making his escape. You sighed, at least he was okay. Next you had to save your ass and try your best to help the arachnid boy. The cool air from the outside hit your face, men were busy trying to get hold of Spider-Man while the others tried to get the gates fully open, somehow you knew Ned had something to do with the malfunction of them.

At least you had a pretty good look on what they were doing, a couple of trucks were ready to load the bioweapons for transportation, and unfortunately they caught you observing.

“Oh shit.” A gunshot crossed the air, but you didn’t take a second to look around, you were sliding across the hood of a pretty BMW to save your life, a muscular man with a mortal glare on his eyes followed your moves without even blinking.

“Come here witchy bitch.” The man said in a sing-song tone. “Let me show you a trick.”

“Fuck off!” you threw a kick at his groin when he was close enough, the man curled, face red but that was not going to stop him, he was angry, angrier than you’ve ever seen a man before.

You gulped.

From afar you caught sight of the red and blue spandex figure, he was busy dealing with like seven men on his own. You took a step back when the muscle dude took one closer to you. It was time to use your tricks, as expected the purple hue of belladonna took the man by surprise. You found cover from gunfire and web shooting under one of the trucks.

“Where are you stupid girl!” muscle-man shouted.

How the fuck was he even alive, was all you could think of. He was supposed to be passed out at best if not dead. Whatever had happened you needed to come up with another plan. The steps of boots under concrete made your skin crawl. The insides of your bag only had a few other ingredients that by themselves caused no harm, the only alternative you had was to mix them all and hope for a miracle.

“Find the witch and kill her, she can’t be far.” You heard way closer than you wanted.

So yes, you had to use it, there was no way you were letting them get you. You got out your copper vial, mixing it with the rest of your leftovers. You were no expert about mixing elements that were not in your area of expertise whatsoever but this was a decisive point in life also you’ve seen Nadia make stuff explode with the same or less things you had at the moment.

The mixture ended up being something close to copper thermite, you only needed fire. Your last flammable dust got used a few hours ago with the webs…. the webs!

“Peter, can you hear me?” your intercom was causing some interference noise.

“Y/n? Where the hell are you?”

“Down the truck, I need you to use your electrified webs or whatever those are called.”

“Sure… wait, what for?” you heard his panicked voice.

“Just use them, we are not letting them get those things, that’s why we are destroying the trucks, it’ll give us more time.”

You could not see or hear Spider-Map but you knew Peter was scoffing or rolling his eyes at you, that being the least of your problems.

“Fine.”

“Thank you. I’ll give you the signal.” You blew the powder in the first truck. The second was only a couple of meters away so you had to make a quick run. This being your only chance at surviving and stopping them. With a big inhale and a reminder of your protection powder you darted to the second truck. Sprinkled the last of your preparation, about to give Peter the signal when you felt someone grabbing you by the ankle. You screeched so hard it made your throat hurt.

Muscle man was pointing at you with a gun, no hesitation in his pupils. Before you knew it, Spidey had him on the floor with a kick on the side of the head.
You could feel your soul coming back to your body. But another man was approaching and you only looked at Spider-Man.

It was a funny feeling, no words were needed for him to understand what the next move had to be. His first web hugged you by the waist. He caught you in his one arm as the second one flew with a dangerous orange glow to the first truck. That same wrist sent an extra large web to the other side of the street as far away as it could get.

The explosion started, expelling large pieces of metal across the sky, your bodies received a few scratches when material hit your skin but nothing too serious, your ears were left with a loud beep for a few seconds as you two landed hard on uneven concrete two buildings away. The earth was trembling as the second explosion happened, just like Peter calculated; domino effect.

You were lying on the ground, gravel craving onto your skin and head. You were alive, after everything you were still alive. You understood the hero life at its fullest, now. It was rewarding yet extremely dangerous. It was ridiculous how dangerous it could get. Putting yourself out there to save people was crazy, understandable yet pure madness.

“Are you hurt?” Peter’s face was all you saw. His mask was off, he had a swelling lip and a bruised cheek. Your chest churned, your nose scrunched, not liking that sensation.

“I’m fine, just taking a second to appreciate life.”

For the first time you made him laugh, well it was more like a snort than anything.

“Yeah, I get it. I don’t do that anymore but it’s nice to be alive after such a chaotic night.”

Steps ran down the street, and far away sirens brought you back to reality. Peter was fully up ready to throw punches to whoever was approaching.

“I thought you were dead, what the fuck guys… at least send me a text next time.” Ned was panting, holding his heart. “Are you okay?”

You nodded, and Peter hugged his friend.

“I think it’s time to call it a night. I’m exhausted.” Ned grunted

“Yeah, let’s get the hell away from here before the cops show up.”

You only giggled, agreeing with Peter.

You looked at the sky, it was either too late at night or too early in the morning, depending on your perspective. To you it was early, the cab back was one of those very talkative people that Ned had to take in. You and Peter were too exhausted to hold a conversation about the best Thai place in Manhattan. Ned was nice enough to tell you to stay at theirs for the rest of the night, which you were very grateful for. The chilly air refreshed your cheeks as you walked the couple blocks you had left to Ned and Peter’s place, your legs were barely holding your body as the elevator chimed once on their floor.

“Good night y/n” Peter simply said and disappeared in his room, Ned was shaking his head disapproving of his friend’s behavior.

“I don’t know what’s up with him, he is usually more… cheery if you can say that.” Ned pulled a couple of blankets from a nearby closet as you seated on the couch. “You can stay in my bed if you’d like.”

“Nah, this is fine. It’ll be only a couple of hours,” Ned sighed and handed you the fluffy covers.

You put them down, a couple of seconds later the nice bubbly dude passed you two pillows, before he left he sent you a big smile.

“Thank you for being there. Peter probably won’t tell you because he is in a weird mood but we were very lucky to have you around tonight.” You scoffed, that was really not what Peter Parker thought, you were sure but it felt sincere from Ned’s side to say so. “I mean it. Have a good night.”

“You too Ned, and thank you.”

A nod and you saw the door of his room closing leaving you in the living room. You finally sighed, a second of pure silence and peace. The pillows were like little clouds molding themselves to your head and when you least noticed it your eyes were feeling too heavy to stop them from shutting. The smell of clean blankets was the last thing your mind grasped before floating away.

Naturally your body would have woken up early, like at five in the morning for plant watering, house duties and breakfast making for the whole coven, yet your body felt so not yours, everything was hurting in ways you were not used to. Legs so tight you thought they were going to fall off, your arms were sore as if you actually had muscles under the flesh. Your face was what pained you the most, accidentally rubbing your nose woke you in a second, wincing in pain, eyes watering again just that this time you were lucky enough to not bleed out.

The sun was hitting you straight on the face, the curtain was left open. Taking a second to adjust to the weirdness of the place and the sore body and face, you looked around, the dust particles dancing where the sunbeams flooded the room. A yawn made you whine, stretching arms and legs, you saw scrapes covering your hands, they were dirty, you guessed your face was looking just like that or probably worse.

Noticing the stillness of the apartment you could tell the boys were still asleep so you used the bathroom to get ready to head out. Your reflection was way worse than expected, the bruises on your nose darkened, as well as your under eyes, and it was very inflamed. Trying to wash your hands and face was pure agony.

What a night

Unfortunately bending down to wash your face only caused another bleeding. Tired of it you shoved handmade tampons of toilet paper in your nose. Fixing your bag that criss-crossed over your chest you were ready to leave but of course Peter Parker was already folding the blankets and putting them on the couch.

He gave you a quick glance, “you slept well?” you noticed he was fully dressed and already showered, his jean jacket hugging his arms, he was looking… nice.

“Uh, yeah.” then he noticed the toilet paper and smirked barely.

“Still bleeding huh?”

“Yes, it’s so annoying. But it’ll heal I guess.” He stood there and you watched him and he looked at you, an awkward sensation floating in the air as no one said anything. “I’m gonna go now, thanks for… letting me crash here.”

Peter snapped out of whatever he was thinking, “oh, err… I need to go give Tony this,” he took the vial of green looking liquid from his jean jacket, “do you want me to walk you to the station?”

He was rocking back and forth on the balls of his feet. You were not sure why he was being polite but you didn’t want to try your luck any longer so you nodded.

“Ned won’t be awake until past noon.” He took his keys and opened the door of the apartment for you.

The first block was probably the weirdest to walk along with Peter Parker. You kind of noticed how you still wore his sweater so the conversation started with that.

“I’ll send your sweater back once I wash it.”

“Sure, don’t worry about it.” He shrugged.

Well, that was probably the worst conversation starter you’ve had. So you tried again.

“Thanks for… you know trusting me yesterday, I- I know it’s hard for you to work with others but I guess we ended up understanding each other pretty well, good teamwork.”

Peter let out a real laugh, “It was rough, we almost died in an explosion so I wouldn’t call it ‘teamwork’ but being honest, it was good to have you there. At least you did a good job taking care of Ned.”

Your eyebrows shot upwards, it wasn’t the “thank you” you were expecting but it was better than nothing.

“Ned is really cool. Must be nice to have friends like him.” Peter walked a little ahead of you, the streets were getting busier by the minute. He had to give you a look, one you were not sure what it meant.

“He is my best friend, and I agree, he is great-“

“And the fact that he pulls off with all your bullshit is impressive.”

Peter’s lips couldn’t help but to smile at what you said, causing your insides to churn. Again, not a very pleasant feeling to experience.

“I suppose you are right, but he’s been there through thick and thin, couldn’t ask for a better friend than him.”

You nodded, not understanding completely but getting to the conclusion that it was an unconditional person.

“You should, ermm… come to watch Back to the Future on the weekend, Ned would like that.”

Bothering Peter was something you didn’t want to do so you were not really sure if joining them was the best idea, “I’ll think about it.”

After another block, Peter stopped abruptly by the side of one street, he looked like he was debating himself as he fidgeted with what you knew was the vial in his pocket.

“Can I buy you a coffee? As a thank you?”

Peter caught you off guard entirely, he was serious but his eyes were shining in a way you hadn’t seen. As you tried to calm your heart beats, you nodded.

“I- yeah that would be nice, thanks.” He nodded once, disappearing in the coffee shop you had on your left. Watching him from outside, silently, you observed his figure and his curls, his profile and his eyes, he caught you looking and you smiled, not knowing what else to do.

So he gave you a thumbs up that made you snort for the level of awkwardness you had achieved from him and even with the reflection of the shop’s glass you saw the blush reaching his ears turning them deep red. You felt your own face burning. Wanting to slap your forehead you decided to turn around and focus on the people passing by until Peter was handing you a paper cup.

“Didn’t ask you what you wanted so I went with a classic latte with oat milk.” he said, cheeks all flushed.

“That’s um actually very accurate. It’s either a latte with oat milk, a macchiato or just plain black coffee. Nice guess Parker.” You smiled.

“My hidden talent.” He joked but smiled at his feet. As you started to walk again you felt Peter stiffening by your side.

“Oh my god, Peter?” A blonde girl was pushing people away as she spoke softs ‘excuse me’ along the way.

Peter unintentionally looked at you, kept on doing so as the blonde squeezed him in a hug “Gwen! What a surprise.”

Oh, so she was Gwen. You understood the hype for his crush, the girl was pretty in ways you only had seen in movies. Her hair shone like gold under the sun, her skin was so pale and porcelain like it made you feel overly self-conscious of your purple face at the moment.

Great first impression…. and probably last, you were almost certain you wouldn’t be seeing her again.

“I know! I was just going to get breakfast before heading to class. What about you? Do you want to join me?” her smile was so white and bright. Something pulled in your chest funnily, what was going on with you today.

“Oh, that’s great, well… I was on my way to-“

“I can go on my own now Parker, I know exactly where I am now. Thanks for the coffee.” You interrupted him, finally catching Gwen’s eye.

“Oh sorry, I didn’t see you there.” The girl gave a sympathetic smile, she was looking at your nose very intently.

“Don’t worry,” you turned to Peter and before he dared to say one word you gave him the best fake smile you had within you, “goodbye Peter Parker.”

Your feet moved fast, following the flow of New York’s busy streets, you didn’t hear if Peter replied or if he just ignored you and focused completely on Gwen.

The way back home was extensively reflexive, it had you in deep thought you almost missed your stop. Your mind wondered about the events of the night you had and how it all was a rollercoaster. Peter had been nice at first, skeptical as almost every other human that had never seen real magic before, but he was polite, then he was serious and then he had been also rude with you and angry, and then he was fine, but he went through a wave of emotions as the night went on.

But he bought you coffee and fixed your broken nose. Yet he stayed with Gwen… And why am I worrying about that?

The Peter Parker thoughts disappeared when you reached your house. Your cellphone rested on the kitchen counter, you didn’t even bother to bring with you. But you did what you had been told to.

The text message you wrote, had a reply in less than a minute.

Y/n

Tony, Peter is safe. I kept him safe.

Tony Stark

Thank you Y/N hope he wasn’t a pain in the ass.

You know he doesn’t think things through.

Y/n

Don’t worry about it, he is taking the sample today.

What is going to happen to the shipments?

Should I do something about that?

Tony Stark

I don’t say this that often but thanks again kid.

The money is on your account now.

And I’ll be taking care of the storage containers don’t worry about that

See you around ;)

You felt a sudden release on your body, the stress those bioweapons were causing you was not a worry any longer, you knew Tony Stark would put hand in the matter right away. What was causing you problems was the fact that Peter had no idea you were working for Tony to keep him safe, and if he found out, that would be a scene you were not expecting to see.
