Chapter Text

Three months ago…

You had only just arrived in the Devildom yesterday. You were overwhelmed by information from the day prior. To know you were attending RAD with one other human and two angels. It was a bit crazy that something like this was happening. You couldn’t get over the fact that every single person you saw had striking good looks. It was almost unfair, sure some humans were attractive, but these guys were on another level. Sitting on your bed, in your given room in the house of lamentation you studied your D.D.D. Scrolling through the apps, you saw RAD and glanced at how many tasks you had. You groaned, this would be a lot to try and complete in one year. You flopped back onto the pillows on the bed and respired as you looked at the ceiling. The room was surprisingly nice, the bed was comfortable from what you could tell. The stone wall with ivy spread across the bricks, a decent size tree behind the headboard of the wooden bed, its branches spreading across the ceiling. A table, and bookshelf beyond that, with a dresser and decorations, placed tactfully through the room. The wooden floor had a large rug covering the floor beside the bed. It was cozy and you almost felt like you were living in a magical treehouse.

As you were admiring the room from your bed, you heard a knock on your door. You raised a brow. It's bedtime shouldn’t everyone be asleep by now? You wondered as you rolled off the bed and stood to your feet. You walked over to the door and cracked it open to see the blue-golden gradient-eyed, white haired demon.

“Mammon?” You questioned in disbelief.

“Open up would ya?” He asked, visibly distressed.

“Why should I?” You question, a bit hurt because of how he had treated you earlier.

He had been rude to you and said he could care less if you were eaten by a lower-level demon.

“Please, (y/n). Look, I need to hide asap!”

You knit your brows together.

“What’s going on?”

He managed to slip in the space you had given him to step in. He closed the door behind him and exhaled.

“Phew, thank ya, you should be glad the GREAT MAMMON has come to visit you. Consider it a privilege.” He stated, matter of fact.

You rolled your eyes.

“You are full of yourself.”

“Hey, hey, hey. I have a good reason in all. Just don’t go sayin’ I came in here, alright?” He remarked, as he went and disappeared somewhere in your room.

You raised a brow as another knock sounded on the door.

Seriously, what is wrong with these guys? You thought, as you opened the door. You blinked as you saw Lucifer standing there with a scowl on his face, arms folded over his chest.

“(Y/N), have you seen Mammon? He has run off from me right before his punishment.”

You raised a brow,

“Punishment?”

“Yes, not that it concerns you unless you are hiding Mammon. Are you?” He questioned, his brows creased; his crimson/black gradient eyes narrowed.

You swallowed your nervousness as you stood a bit taller.

“No, I'm not. If he does show up, I’ll let you know.”

Lucifer raised a brow before the one side of his lips tugged up into a smirk.

“Alright, just know. If I find you guilty of hiding Mammon, I won’t spare you either.”

He then walked off, his footsteps receding down the hall, as you closed the door sighing in relief. You saw Mammon come out from his hiding spot.

“Man, you sure are a lifesaver. How can I thank ya?” He asked, with a goofy smile and a laugh.

You narrowed your eyes.

“It’s only my second day here and this is a bit much. Do you know Lucifer is going to kill me if he finds out you were here!?” You exclaimed in a whisper.

“I’ll protect ya, so he won’t hurt ya.” He replied confidently.

You gave him a blank stare,

“Says the one who was cowering when Lucifer appeared at the doorway.”

He gave a nervous laugh,

“I’m tellin’ ya I’m not afraid of him! I’m not!” He exclaimed.

You folded your arms across your chest.

“Mammon…” You trailed.

He gulped nervously.

“Y-yes?”

“I don’t believe you.”

“I-I’ll show ya! I’m not!”

“Just go…I’d like to sleep.”

“Hey, ya know if you’re too scared, I could always stay with ya.” He confessed a flush on his cheeks.

“Mammon!” You exclaimed.

“Alright, alright. I’ll go.” He said grumbling as he walked to the door and opened it.

“Just so ya know you're troublesome to look after, and I don’t wanna do it. But since ya saved my skin from lucifer. I’ll give ya a break.” He said before closing the door and walking away.

You shook your head a brief smile crossed your lips. You couldn’t help but think he was adorable for acting so tough and then soft.

When you woke up the following morning to your alarm going off you fluttered your eyes open, still feeling tired. Lazily touching your snooze button, you glanced at the time on your phone before groaning not wanting to get up. Knowing you needed to wake up, you slowly sat up and swing your feet over the side of the bed. Your feet touched the rug on the floor as you shuffled your feet along the wooden floor to your dresser. You changed from your pajamas to your RAD uniform. Making your way to your bathroom, you brushed your teeth and your hair. Making sure you looked good for your third day, you applied a light application of make-up which consisted of a tinted moisturizer, mascara, and lip gloss. Walking back into your room you grabbed your bag filled with books and supplies and made your way downstairs to the dining room. When you opened the doors, the demon brothers were already there arguing over something until they noticed you.

“Good morning, (y/n)! You should sit by me~” Asmodeus sang as he smiled cheerfully.

He was the avatar of Lust and always seemed to be in a good mood and happy to see you. He was always on top of the latest and greatest beauty news or gossip. You were still unsure of how you felt about him.

“No, she should sit by me,” Mammon spoke up annoyed.

“As long as a normie like her doesn’t try and sit by me.” Levi the blue-haired, orange-eyed demon of Envy said.

He was from what you knew so far, a huge otaku weeb. He loved his anime memorabilia and games. He also hated normies. You didn’t know enough yet to form a full opinion.

“Mmmn…you can sit beside me (y/n).” Beelzebub an orange messy-haired, violet-pink gradient-eyed demon said with a jovial smile munching away on all the food including the plates.

“Um? Are you okay? Eating plates seem like it might hurt you?”

Beel blinked,

“I feel fine. The plates still have the residue from food so It has a good flavor.” He replied as he continued munching.

“Nevermind him (y/n) he does this a lot. More than he should.”

A blonde-haired green-eyed demon said looking up from a book he was reading.

“Oh, okay.” You said as you took your seat beside Asmo which made him smile.

“Here (y/n) open up, this tastes good.” You eyed the interesting-looking food on the spoon he held out to you.

“Don’t worry, it won’t poison you.”

You laughed nervously.

“Good to know…”

They all seemed to be looking at you, waiting to see if you would eat what Asmo was offering. You inhaled as you decided to be brave and took the bite from the spoon. Asmo chuckled, as you chewed up the food. It wasn’t that bad at all.

“See, it’s good right?” He asked tilting his head as he looked at you with admiration in his eyes.

“It is better than I thought.”

“Hehe, since Beel already ate a lot of the other food, you can share with me~” He sang.

“Thank you.”

“Hey! Wait just a minute! What’s the big deal Asmo. Why are ya feedin’ (y/n) when she can do it herself!” Mammon exclaimed in outrage.

“I don’t see why you are so upset about this?” Asmo asked as he fed you another bite and giggled with glee.

Mammon growled.

“I ain’t gonna stay here and watch this disgustin’ sight.”

He then stood and stormed out of the room, right as Lucifer walked in. Lucifer raised a brow.

“What is that all about?”

Satan narrowed his eyes at the sight of Lucifer.

“I’m going to RAD now.” He explained to the others and stood to leave.

“Hey wait for me,” Levi said as he stood up and went to walk with him.

Lucifer crossed his arms.

“Asmo, are you spoon-feeding (y/n) like a child?” He asked in disbelief.

Asmo smiled.

“Yes, jealous?” He asked with a smile and a wink.

“Hardly.” He said put-off.

“I came to tell everyone you better leave for classes now or you’ll be late.” His tone was stern as he narrowed his eyes.

“And Beel stop eating the plates, Barbatos is getting tired of having to order new dishes for the house of lamentation because you decide to eat them.” He said shaking his head in disappointment. Beel frowned.

“I’m just so hungry.”

“You need to find a better snack.”

Beel sighed as he shuffled out of the room holding his tummy.

“Come on (y/n), we should go so we aren’t late.” He said with a smile.

You nodded as you stood up.

“Right, let’s go.” You supposed, even if Asmo was the avatar of Lust you could trust him for now. After all, he was one of the most welcoming of demons when you arrived.

In the classroom at RAD, you were bored out of your mind listening to lectures. You were sitting beside Solomon -the other human here in the devildom - and Asmo. Asmo had insisted on sitting beside you, while Solomon had already been there and waved you over to sit by him. He had given Asmo a look as if they had known each other prior. Yet, you had no idea what was going on between them. Solomon seemed to want to focus his attention on you or the class and had nothing to do with Asmo. Which didn’t seem to bother Asmo in the least. You began doodling in your notebook between taking notes for an upcoming test on Friday. It was strange it seemed like the human world. The only difference is knowing demons were surrounding you and that it was always nighttime in the Devildom. Solomon took notice of your doodles and wrote on the corner of your paper;

Do you always do this?

You raised a brow as you glanced over at him. He smiled at you and you wrote back,

Only when I’m bored.

Solomon had to refrain from laughing as he wrote it out instead,

Haha, you sure are interesting.

You smiled as you replied,

Not sure if it’s a good thing or not?

Solomon’s lips tugged up on one side in a smirk.

Of course, it's a good thing.

Your secret chat was interrupted by Lucifer clearing his throat, with his arms crossed over his chest.

“Are you two paying attention or too involved with your written conversation?” He demanded.

You both looked at each other before looking at Lucifer.

“Haha, my bad,” Solomon said.

Lucifer scowled at you both,

“If I catch you not paying attention one more time, you’ll both be in trouble.”

You nodded as you felt his gaze lingering on you for a bit longer before he retreated, and the bell rang signaling the end of class. You respired as you stood up gathering your things and walking out of the room. It was only the third day, and you were starting trouble. This was not like you, then again you had never been solely surrounded by males. Very hot demon males. Except for Solomon, Simeon. Then there was Luke, but he was like an adorable child, and you just wanted to hug him. Simeon on the other hand, for an angel he was certainly tempting. Solomon, you were a bit cautious about still, but since he was the only other human here. You felt a sense of companionship with him for that reason alone.

When you arrived back at your room in the house of lamentation you saw Mammon in your room searching through your things. You dropped your bag on the floor.

“Mammon! What are you doing?” You asked creasing your brows.

“Ah!” He startled,

“U-uh, n-nothing.” He stammered.

“Then why are you snooping through my things?” You questioned.

“I was just y'know, looking for somethin’.”

You knew what this was about, you had heard Mammon was greedy and liked searching for things he could pawn off and sell. It was all about money for him.

“Were you trying to find something of mine to sell for money?” You asked narrowing your eyes.

“H-hey! Why're ya lookin’ at me like that (y/n)? Ya know I deserve some respect. Instead, everyone thinkin’ I’m some scummy guy always lookin’ for a profit.” He explained creasing his brows as he shook his head upset.

“From what I heard, that’s exactly what they think of you! How is anyone to respect you when you do stuff like this?” You asked.

“Look, it’s hard to explain. Maybe someday I’ll tell ya why. But I need the money. Besides, I’ll pay ya back later.”

You didn’t know what to think. This same guy who didn’t want to look after you kept coming to you to hide or looking for ways to make money. You sighed,

“Mammon. Why don’t you find a job?”

“Huh? Do ya think I don’t work? I work, I’m a model ya know.”

“You model?”

“Ya, can’t cha tell? I work hard, it’s not easy bein’ a model and a student.”

You continued talking with him for a bit until he got flustered for some reason and left the room. You closed your door. After he left you walked over to your bed, flopping into your pillows. Being in the devildom for a year was going to be a challenge.
