AIANES

Summary:

Aianes | αίανης
(adj.) eternal; persistent

“The only thing I have realized is that you, Nott — are a shameless flirt.”

“Only with those I find to be pretty.” He answers, a smug smile curling his lips.

Olympia scoffs at his bluntness. “I’m pretty now?”

“No — I am afraid pretty doesn’t do you justice. Breathtaking, however…”

Theodore holds her stare, he can see her eyes clearly and he is sure that there is no better sight than what — who — lays before him. Olympia laughs softly and it makes Theodore smile much harder than he already was.

“Merlin, you haven't changed.”

"And yet, you changed it all."

In which Olympia Sarantos returns to Europe to find herself falling slowly for the Nott heir once again, or maybe, just maybe — she had never stopped.

Notes:

Hello, first and foremost, if you are giving this story a chance I would like to thank you. This is my first time attempting to write a fanfiction, but I have loved Harry Potter since I can remember and decided that it was now or never.

I do not own any Harry Potter characters or the original plot of the books/movies. All credits belongs to the original author. However, I do own my original characters such as Olympia and her family, along with any additional characters or plots I may add.

Again, this is an Alternate Universe, but I will try to partially follow the storyline. Do keep in mind that the story is not from Harry's point of view but rather Olympia's, so it might not focus all the time on the plot we all know, but I do hope you enjoy it. Since it is an alternate universe, I might make changes if I see them fit, this is in aid of the approach I want the story to take.

Please keep in mind that english is not my first language and that everything I write regarding cultures or facts about history are based on deep research, but again, even the internet can be wrong; if you spot a grammar error or a mistake regarding "false information" please let me know so I can fix it. Also, if I write something that might be disrespectful towards a certain community/culture/ethnicity etc, let me know and if possible, educate me.

Be mindful that this story will contain triggering topics such as: underage drinking, use of drugs, underage sex (consensual smut, eventually), sexual assaults (not described), eating disorders, suicidal thoughts/attempts, violence, abuse, death and more will be addressed.

None of this topics should be romanticized, and if you are easily triggered, I suggest you proceed with caution.

On one last note, please keep in mind that we are all flawed and that is what I tried to portray on each and every character, because as much as we try, there are times that we will mess up, so please bare with me, as I am trying to make the characters as human as possible and how despite everything they have been through, they still manage to survive. Yes, they might be brilliant and powerful when it comes to magic, but that does not excuse any of the characters of making mistakes, and I really think that is what makes us feel connected to them.

There will also be several pairings throughout the book such as Wolfstar and Jily, our OC will also find herself a love interest. Anyways, just a reminder that this is a safespace and if you are racist, homophobic, xenophobic, or just plain rude, and you make any sort of comment, I will delete it and you will no longer be welcomed here. Please, respect everyone, is not that hard. This also includes respecting each others opinions when it comes to characters, we might not all like the same characters, but we need to be mindful, that for some people, they provide comfort. Please, be nice.

Also, as you can tell by the sinopsis, this is an AU where the Potters survived, Wormtail was sent to Azkaban and Sirius never got framed.

The book will mainly focus on Olympia and her journey through change, dark magic, bigotry, death, and many other aspects. Reminder, that she has her own background and she is a powerful witch because of her bloodline. I wanted to make a powerful female OC, that is not necessarily "good" from the very beginning, but more on the morally grey side. Meaning her journey will be filled with ups and downs.

Why morally grey? First I think these type of characters are amazing, not to mention interesting. Olympia has been raised in a house were blood status is everything, she has never known any better and even if she tried to leave those ideals behind, is not something that will happen from one day to another.

The book will start from Goblet of fire and will last until the Deathly Hallows, plus some bonus chapters describing what happened to the characters after the war. Now that you have finished reading, please enjoy. Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoy it. Please vote or comment as well, it would mean the world to me.

-Love, B.

Chapter 1: Prologue

Chapter Text

Death seemed to follow Olympia.

It lurked around the corridors of her family’s estate, watching her with careful eyes, awaiting the right time to present itself once more. Scaring the young heiress, and reminding her, that no matter how hard she tried to hide; Death would always find her.

Thus, Olympia stopped.
There was no reason to fear the inevitable.

Now, the Sarantos Heiress sits on the balcony ledge of her family’s Summer Manor in Thera. A glass of expensive red goblin wine and the unforgiving Greek sea keeping her company.

Her grandmother, Aveline, had fallen ill a couple of weeks prior to the end of term, which resulted in Olympia leaving Ilvermorny earlier than expected. She recalls her grandmother’s state, the once perfectly put together Aveline Sarantos, once Rosier, had vanished before her.

She 's gone. Had been the words the healers said to both her and Apollo, her grandfather.

Olympia had let a sigh leave her lips at last. Her grandmother had died before her and she felt euphoric to the point of no return. She found peace on her passing and she silently asked to any God that might hear her prayers that, if hell truly existed, her Grandmother burned in it.

“Do you ever stop drinking?”

Olympia turns at the sound of her cousin. Draco Malfoy smiles at her and is quick to join her by the empty spot on the ledge. “I thought — given the circumstances, that you would be…” Draco speaks slowly but stops when he fails to come up with words.

Olympia, on the contrary, says them for him. “Mourning the loss of my grandmother?”

“Precisely.”

“I should — but then again, what’s there to mourn? I despised her and her death brings me nothing but unadulterated bliss.”

The Malfoy heir chuckles unamused at his cousin’s crude words. “Not even to pretend?”

“To whom exactly? You?” Olympia says, scoffing into her glass. “Please, Draco — you hated her as much as I did. Don’t play pureblood etiquette with me.”

A loud and familiar crack stops the cousins' conversation short. A house elf with big golden eyes and ragged clothes stands before them both, bowing lowly before addressing them.

“Pips is very sorry for bothering Mistress Olympia and young Mr. Malfoy but Master Apollo has called for her.”

Both Olympia and Draco stare in amazement at the elf and the thick Greek accent that slips while trying and barely managing to speak English.

“Has my grandfather mentioned what could he possibly need from me?” Says Olympia while stepping off the ledge.

“Master Apollo has not said any further, Mistress, but a man has been keeping Master Apollo company.”

At that, Olympia’s ears perk up. It wasn’t uncommon for her grandfather to have visitors, but it was uncommon for her not to be aware of them, especially when it was expected of her to greet the guest.

“A man? Do you happen to know who he might be?”

Pips shakes his head at the lack of information. “Pips is very sorry Mistress Olympia, but Pips does not know of the man.” Olympia nods, ready to dismiss the elf when this one seems to remember more. “But Pips could only tell he is not from here, a strange accent that one has.”

Olympia furrows her brows and lifts a single eyebrow in curiosity. Unaware of it, Draco does the same expression behind her back. Both cousins knew foreigner visits were usual back in the mainland, but not in the Island, let alone without notice.

“Thank you, Pips. I will see what my grandfather requires of me, you may leave”

The elf bows and leaves with a crack as loud as the first. Turning to Draco, Olympia tells him she will be back as soon as whatever her grandfather needs is handled accordingly.

“Don’t worry about me.” He answers while grabbing her glass and filling it with the leftover wine. “I’ll stay here and drink in your absence.”

Olympia stops herself from rolling her eyes, instead she slips her shoes on and walks through the Manor corridors. As she walks through different rooms and floors, she can’t help but stare at its decor; from marble floors covered by exquisite rugs to high ceiling windows that led to balconies, the Manor was a monument for luxury.

Olympia thinks about their ancestral Manor back in Athens, it was much more luxurious and spacious, of that she was certain; but she also knew that none of the many estates and properties her family owned, could ever compare with this one.

Here, Olympia had her best memories hidden among the walls. She smiles in nostalgia, after she left Greece, her grandmother had forbidden her of ever returning before she was of age.

That had been four years ago.

Now, with Aveline dead, she was able to return, even if it wasn’t for long. Pushing her thoughts aside, she finally reaches the foyer leading to her grandfather’s studio. She stares at the tall mahogany doors and only after she straightens her skirt and blouse does she knock.

“Come in.”
