“Hank!” Art calls out, catching the attention of a guy who is busy gesturing wildly as he talks and who looks way too tiny to be in college. He waves excitedly when he spots Art. Pete smirks bemusedly at the enthusiasm that is already radiating off him from a distance, but his face falls slightly when he sees Hank’s roommate.
Art, for obvious reasons, hadn’t mentioned that the roommate was hot. Still, Pete wishes he’d had some warning.
OR: Pete had hoped he could avoid getting attached to anyone for the first few weeks of college. He fails within a single day.

It’s Valentine’s Day.
Ray and Pete have to spend their first one apart. Stebbins & Harkness finally get to spend their fourth one together, but Stebbins is sick and pissed about it. Kicked out of the dorm by Ray, Olson decides to use the time to surprise Clementine. Art debates what’s appropriate for Valentine’s Day when you’ve only been on a whopping two dates with someone. Collie and Barkovitch have been hooking up for a month, but Barkovitch doesn’t realize what day it is until Collie beats him to it.
And a snowstorm has them all confined to campus.

Ray has known plenty of guys to size each other up and gauge what types of things they may have to compete for - girls, wealth, success. Who’s stronger, smarter, more attractive? Ray feels suddenly unsettled in his presence, maybe a little self-conscious, but he’s felt the sting of jealousy before. This isn’t that. He doesn’t feel competitive. He’s not sure what it is he’s feeling.
