6:00 pm: Christmas Eve
“Fuck you, fuck you, fuck you,” Tim shouted at his phone as dial tone beeped out into the freezing evening while he paced back and forth.
The dial tones stopped when Jason finally picked up the phone.
“Fuck. You.” Tim spoke with the bottom of his phone held inches away from his teeth.
“Yeah,” Jason replied. There was a certain ache in his voice, like the vibrations of his words got worn out by their electric sprint across Gotham’s decrepit phone lines.
Tim dropped into a sitting position atop the roof of the Wayne Enterprises tower with his phone on speaker held in front of him.
“Fuck you.”
