Summary
Nancy Wheeler is frustrated at being a woman. In Concord MA in the aftermath of the civil war this means everyone wants her to drink tea, and be polite, and generally do nothing of interest. However, when she turns down her long time childhood friend Steve Harrington's offer of marriage, it makes her more determined than ever to not fall in love and work out how she's going to make it to New York to be with her aunt and become a famous author. But, at some point, she becomes aware of the older brother of her younger brother's best friend, who works as a farm hand and annoys her with his rough manners. Somehow, he becomes weaved into the fabric of her life as one of her best friends, and in the end she has to decide if she wouldn't actually like it to be that much more.
OR, I watched Greta Gerwig's Little Women and couldn't stop thinking about Jo March/Nancy Wheeler parrallels and how perfect it would be for her to fall in love with the scruffy farm boy, Jonathan Byers.

Summary
Nancy had promised a feminist movie, with thoughtful commentary on abortion and international politics. Jonathan thought it would be a little more indie-director and a little less dance-forward.

Summary
Nancy Wheeler finds herself the new girl for her senior year at Hawkins High. She's starting to find her feet but keeps running into Jo Byers, an outcast at school who wears men's clothes and spends most of her time in the school's dark room. Nancy can't tell why she's so drawn to this other girl, despite getting attention from the most popular boy in school. Over time the two of them develop a friendship, and something else that feels much more sacred.
OR AU where there's no upside down and Nancy Wheeler is taken by the Butch Lesbian version of Jonathan Byers.

It's been four years since they all reunited for the younger kids' graduation and agreed to meet up in Philly. For most of those four years Nancy has been a friend, just a very good friend, but in the last couple of months the facade of friendship has started to fall and Jonathan has realised he has feelings for her again. He's been dealing with this by ignoring her, but now she's moving to New York and it seems like it won't be that possible to avoid her anymore. Which isn't ideal, when she's made it clear for many years that they will never be anything else than just best friends.
Or, After all the time, it turns out Jonathan is still a bit in love with Nancy, and he might be a bit of twat as he works out what to do about it.

But when she bumps into Steve in Hawkins one Christmas, she is forced to confront the realities of the past and reminded of him. Of Jonathan and what he meant, or perhaps still means, to her.

Summary

Summary
It’s been four years since the virus broke out and three years since they found one another. Both of their families are dead.
They’re both just grateful to have one another.
EDIT: For all my new readers, this story is complete. The 22’d chapter will just be a flashback for one of the character’s, but the official storyline is complete. Enjoy!
