Gotham has the strangest creatures. Jason doesn’t consider himself one, but he lives where too many were born and bred. It’s hard to separate yourself from that bitter reality; sometimes, you can’t. It digs its blazing talons into you and refuses to let go. Jason doesn’t know where it’s taking him, but nothing screams good. In fact, he thinks he’s screaming.
Or: Exploring Jason growing up in the gutters of Gotham (and then in the halls of Wayne Manor) through the lens of an old, discarded plotline Jason almost suffered in canon. (Real ones can predict what’ll happen).

There are many days where Batman is so consumed by The Mission that even when he takes off the cowl, he still forgets to be Bruce Wayne. However, when some mysterious force makes him forget to be Batman instead, more than just the Gotham City crime rate is affected. His family has to deal with a very changed man, and while Red Hood has never been able to accept Batman's priorities, Jason Todd might just find he has a very different opinion about a civilian Bruce Wayne.

Holy sacred story. Like unbelievably perfect. Nothing can compare!!!!!!! Repression and reaching; Consequences and weight. Loss and longing. Genuinely so much love and thought sewed into a beautiful, mournful work. Morphing DC’s questionable canon storyline’s and giving them meaning takes the skill and care this author has mastered. I want to read more of their’s. I will be their super fan. Write books, please. You’ve got a personal, special touch. I love it so much.

If Bruce 'made up' with Jason at the diner following the events at Sanctuary, the Red Hood shouldn't be reluctant to ask Bruce for permission to be in Gotham for a necessary surgery. Instead, Jason kidnaps Tim and asks him to make sure Bruce doesn't know he's in Gotham. Yeah, nothing about this sounds like they've forgiven each other.
