Summary

“So you’re telling me…” Yuma begins, his curious fingers tapping gently on Harua’s flushed cheeks as they settle onto the bed. “Maki told you that you might be a late bloomer, and now you want to try and see if you can… pop a knot in me?”
“Don’t say it like that!” Harua chokes, the flush on his face growing deeper instantly. His hands fly up to push Yuma’s fingers away.

Yuma went through his first rut a few weeks back and came out the other side alive, which is more than Jo expected, honestly. But ever since, he’s been off—less annoying in the usual ways and more annoying in new, inexplicable ones. It’s not like he’s trying to posture against Fuma, who’s too massive and too commanding for even Yuma’s ego to challenge. Or Euijoo, who’s too calm, too rational. Or Harua, who’s younger and still technically off-limits—at least if you want to avoid looking like a bully.
No. Yuma picks Jo. Because Jo is the same age. Because Jo doesn’t posture. Because Jo is quiet enough that pushing him gets a reaction without real consequences. He doesn’t bare his teeth, doesn’t push back, doesn’t scent-mark his own corners or glare across rooms. Jo is the type of alpha who gets flustered before he gets angry. Who falls into traps laid by sharper tongues and cockier grins.
