She meets Adora’s eyes for what she hopes is the last time, memorises the stormy blue of her irises. “I don’t have to stay and watch it happen.”
“Catra, please,” Adora rises to her knees. She hugs Catra’s bag with one hand and begs, “Stay. I need you.”
“No you don’t,” Catra can tolerate a lot of things, but hearing Adora lie to her hurts the most. She asks Melog to cloak her and Melog listens without complaints. “You never have."
She disappears from Adora’s sight.
