Cyno never treated Tighnari with anything other than tenderness and consideration, completely at odds with Collei's preconceived notions of him, and it was just...bewildering.
And even still, Collei just couldn't bring herself to trust him fully. Trusting got you separated from your parents. Trusting got you tortured and experimented on. Trusting could put you in the ground.
Therefore, she remained wary and distant, avoiding eye contact with Cyno most of the time and certainly never getting close enough for him to touch her.
She would never let him touch her again.

Summary

Collei's dads are acting strange. Going in the woods of the forest and coming back with a abnormal aura. Tighnari brewing potions she has never seen, Cyno coming home even more than usual... when Collei wants to talk to them in private, she is pretty scared.

Summary
> It felt like their usual dance at this point. The past few deployments have been rough on both of them and their relationship. Cyno became withdrawn. The images of what he had seen kept flashing before his eyes. Every time he stared down at his hands, he would see the blood coating them. He could still see the fading light in the eyes of his comrades and the people whose lives he had to take in order to keep his.
After adopting Collei - a sickly child the young couple met at a playground while her orphanage was taking a day trip - the bills kept piling up. It didn't matter, they still deeply loved their daughter even when the stress was pushing aside love and empathy to make room for itself. In order to keep them from drowning, Cyno joined the military to foot the majority of the bills as Tighnari took evening classes to hopefully secure a better position at the company he worked for. Until that wasn't enough.
Will they ever find their way back to each other?

Summary
Cyno gets seriously injured. It throws Tighnari entirely off his axis.
"I'll make it up to her with my limited edition Genius Invokation cards," he offers.
Tighnari crosses his arms, anger draining out of him despite himself. "You got her hooked on it. She's been slacking on her homework in favour of studying game strategies."
The corners of Cyno's eyes crease. "Oh no," he says drily.
