Summary
Mob splashed his face. He felt the cool water trickle down his face and neck. The running tap water served as white noise, barely loud enough to overpower his thoughts. Staring at his hands, he felt his heart slowly sink at the possibility that none of his friends truly knew anything against him. What was there to know, anyway? They all know he's an esper, that's off the list, they all knew his struggles with his emotions, they knew he absolutely sucked at math.
Wow. He really was boring. There wasn't much more to him than that, was there? He looked up, locking eyes with his reflection in the mirror. He could think of one interesting thing about all of his friends. Reigen had a way with words, Tome was awfully knowledgeable in space and aliens, the list goes on. What about him? Or was it just that they didn't care to ask, and therefore he didn't care to think?

Michiru was preparing for the extremely action-packed day ahead of her. By action-packed, she meant she was going to celebrate her birthday out with Nazuna, her bestest-closest-cutest and definitely platonic friend of all time. She would’ve dragged Shirou along, but as soon as Michiru disclosed the details of her outing, Shirou said he had to get some business down and that Michiru should just enjoy her time with her friend.

Mob knew his birthday was around the corner, but he wasn't exactly pumped about it. He acknowledged the significance of it, he knew why people celebrated birthdays, and why they were deemed a positive event. But he wasn't exactly looking forward to his one, yet he wasn’t dreading it. He never expects or even wants anyone to go out of their way to do something huge for his birthday, it feels like he's burdening them. It was just too much of a hassle to Mob.
