He throws himself down a flight of stairs as he speaks up for the first time since he basically said he was certain he’d die. “Well, I guess I didn’t die after all.” Gaz hisses as he gets down to the bottom of the staircase, opposite of the exit.
“Steamin’ bloody Jesus Gaz, what the fuck happened??”
“Location,” Price and Ghost command in unison.
An enemy soldier bursts through the doors about three meters away from him, gun not drawn yet. Gaz quickly takes him out with a well placed shot in the forehead, feeling pain from his foot radiating upwards as he resumes moving towards the exit.
“Gaz?!” Ghost calls out, worried upon hearing the shooting.
OR
After a harrowing injury, Gaz learns that his squadmates have feelings for him. Gay shit ensues.

Muscle memory developed through trauma and pain fights against the gentleness he knows he can trust.
