Summary
They didn’t really lose, Charles supposes; not in the traditional sense. There was destruction, but there almost always is. They lost a jaeger, but no pilots. They killed another kaiju. Not a perfect day, perhaps, but a victory in the broader pattern of war.
It doesn’t feel like victory.

"Cleanliness, Oscar," Lando says like it's common sense, like committing a capital sin is of the same category as the Sunday weather. "It's next to Godliness."
"I know," he responds. The words are pulled from his mouth like Lando has strings tied to the back of his vocal cords connected to keys like pianos and he knows just how to make Oscar sing. He doesn't think knives or scissors would fit down his throat to cut them the way he wishes they could.
"Yeah. I know you know. Wouldn't have said it otherwise."

okay. so.
i’ve just finished my third full listen of blue echoes and i’m currently lying face down on my carpet in complete silence. if anyone would like to come peel me off the floor, you are welcome to try, but i make no promises. this album is not just an album, it’s a dissection. it’s a reckoning. it’s charles leclerc cracking open his ribcage and handing us his heart in sixteen pieces.
