    Summary

Life feels so chaotic for Shane sometimes, with all the loud noises and the unwritten rules he’s expected to follow, even though no one ever taught them to him. It’s why the bookstore feels more like home to him than anywhere else in Boston. It doesn’t ask Shane to be anything other than himself. Doesn’t ask for any more than he can give.

    He can just exist here.

Shane likes slow, likes taking his time. And Ilya - without saying or doing anything in particular - makes Shane feel like that’s okay. Like he isn’t doing anything wrong by standing still sometimes.

(Or, Shane works in a bookstore, Ilya plays hockey, and they both go to the same college. They fall in love in every universe.)

    Summary

Five years ago, Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov quietly went their separate ways. They handled their heartbreak differently. Shane cut off his family and friends and focused only on hockey, not that it helped, his game has totally fallen apart. Ilya had the support of the Centaurs, even if they didn't know why they were supporting him.

But when Ilya announces his retirement at the end of the next season, it shakes Shane back to reality. He has one season left to play against the man he still loves; and then, would he ever see him again? As Shane starts to piece his life back together, the biggest missing piece is still Ilya.

Ilya had planned to just enjoy the last season he'd play of professional hockey and obviously try to win another cup. But when Shane reaches back out, he has much more to consider. He never expected to talk to Shane again, but he can't deny that it's everything he's wanted in the last five years.

Can they salvage what they had? Should they even try? How can Shane and Ilya be a part of each other's lives again?

    Summary

Shane Hollander always had a strategy. He had a strategy for winning the Cup, a strategy for managing the press, and a strategy for keeping his relationship with his rival-turned-boyfriend, Ilya Rozanov, strictly in the dark. He really was good at managing it all… Right up until the moment a medical impossibility turned into a positive pregnancy test, and the only man Shane ever loved asked him to do the one thing he couldn’t: tell the truth.

Five years post-breakup, Shane is technically winning. He has the trophies, the privacy, and their brilliant daughter, Airi. And he is perfectly co-parenting with his ex, Ilya Rozanov. The rules are simple: minimal contact, polite text messages about their daughter, and absolutely no acknowledging about their past.

Until Yuna Hollander decides to intervene. Suddenly, the ocean Shane put between them is gone. Shane’s new strategy is simple: survive seven days with Ilya without falling apart.

    Summary

In 2006, the Hollander family billeted a player to the Ottawa 67s - Ilya Rozanov, a 15 year old Russian Bostonian with a hockey talent to rival Shane's.
Years later, they’d once again share a team, and a home: Boston College.

“Why did you choose to come here? It’s not like you couldn’t have gone anywhere else.”
Shane remembered his surprise at Ilya’s commitment. The calm of Boston College didn’t exactly fit Ilya’s predisposition.
Ilya looked thoughtful for a second, underneath the tumult on his face. “Other than the obvious? I don’t know. I think I just felt like this place was where I was meant to go.”
Shane understood that. After all, he’d felt the same way.
Ilya gently nudged him with his elbow. "Now you. Why are you here, Canadian boy?”
The corner of Shane’s lip raised, and he shrugged. “I wanted to be more than hockey. At least, for a little while longer.”
Ilya’s eyes locked on him, and a small smile reset the lines of Ilya’s face. “You couldn’t have done that in Canada?”
Shane shrugged again. “Sure, but Canada didn’t have you.”
Ilya looked down at the ground, and didn’t look back up as he spoke.
    “The NHL didn’t have you.”
