    The tension between them snapped like a wire pulled too tight, and Oscar’s eyes widened as Lando’s words landed with a force that nearly knocked the air out of him. He stood frozen for a second, hurt and disbelief colliding in his chest, before his own frustration surged to the surface, fierce and unrelenting.
