The horrible, aching knot in his chest dedicated to Dennis was a piece of Robby that he tried, time and time again, to rip out. Always to no avail.

Scar offers Grian a peek into a life that was a far cry from his own. Their arrangement, while unusual, was a matter of convenience. And with the lives they both led, that's how it was supposed to stay. They didn't need anything more than the surface level companionship that the two had grown accustomed to. They were more than happy to play the parts they'd been assigned, until their time was up.
